Apex Legends Cup Series

Apex desperately needs a more robust competitive ecosystem. Ranked is cool, but it will never be able to meet the needs of the competitive community.

The devs need to start a ALCS for stacked teams only, similar to the Fortnite equivalent. The ALCS could have its own progression, point system, and rankings built on a monthly cycle. The ALCS could offer cosmetics, badges, dive trails, banners, etc., as rewards.

Essentially, the ALCS would consist of in-game daily tournaments, similar to Rocket League. The ALCS and Ranked would compliment each other, since the ALCS would only be available for specific times throughout the day. The ALCS could follow the same rules as the ALGS.

Developing such a system shouldn't require a lot of resources.

I'm just sitting on my couch while solo queuing Ranked, brainstorming ๐Ÿง . If I can think of this type of stuff why can't the development team. Players of all backgrounds need more to do in Apex, outside of brainless skirmishing.

Do something!!! Comp players want to spend money too. What about us?!?!

  • EA Mods, I'm done with this post. Send it to the devs. Do your jobs please.

I feel bad for my Apex Legends Predator Invitational ideals. I'm just trying my best to, playfully, help you all see the light. That ideal originated from NickMercs. He mentioned it during his stream when he switched over to Apex years ago (when Seer was added).

Originally, I thought that Ranked enhancements was the best solution. Enhancing Ranked requires less developmental work. But that's a flawed approach. Ranked needs to remain a place where players can climb, even if they solo queue.

This current competitive solution I'm proposing, developing the ALCS, is a much better solution for comp players. The comp community, including myself, have requested in-game tournaments in the past. This post serves as a more detailed approach to our request. This ideal originates from the G.O.A.T. himself, ImperialHal. He mentioned adding Tournaments/Cups, similar to Fortnite, years ago; even before NickMercs mentioned his ideal about competitve Ranked enhancements.

Overall, these ideals did not come from me. I'm just a messenger and like the old saying goes, "Don't shoot the messenger". That's weird. ๐Ÿ˜’

The ideals in this post/discussion may be flawed. Enhance it. Make it better. Develop!!!

I deleted one of my comments. I don't like the ideal of playing matches in a specific time frame as a competitive format. It didn't work for Warzone, and that game doesn't represent BR too well.

    Show us what you got!!!

Y'all got less than two months to get y'all thing together. Good luck!!! - Jay-Z

  • Rewards (Ideals):

ALCS participation badge for all tourney/cup participants.

ALCS screensavers for all tourney/cup participants.

ALCS based Music packs for all tourney/cup participants

ALCS Prestige badge for the Top 27 squads of a tournament.

ALCS basic gun charms for the Top 27 squads of a tournament.

ALCS basic hologram for the Top 27 squads of a tournament.

ALCS Elite badge for the Top 3 placements (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)

ALCS ground and skydive emotes that display a trophy/cup for the Top 3 placements. (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)

ALCS skydive trails for the Top 3 placements. (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)

ALCS banners for the Top 3 placements. (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)

ALCS holograms for the Top 3 placements. (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)

ALCS gun charms for the Top 3 placements. (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)

ALCS gun skins for the Top 3 placements. (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)

ALCS legend skins for 1st place squads only.

ALCS heirlooms for the highest ranked squads in the ALCS for the Top 3 placements. (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)

These rewards would be Legendary tier and below. Nothing that competes with Store items.

  • How and why do the devs and communities for other games understand competitive integrity more than us?

I just don't understand what's going on with our side. Why are we being so arrogant, stubborn, and ignorant to the facts? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Our gaming ideology and philosophy doesn't make sense, especially since Apex is the most competitive game on the market. The direction we've been taking is pure stupidity.

  • I just finished reading all the information about Fortnite tournaments. What are we doing??? Devs/Apex community, are we living on another planet? For real. We need an awakening. I know a lot y'all will read my posts and turn a blind eye, but you're hurting the game you love, not me. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Edit - Similar reaction to all my Stay with Team requeue posts that nobody ever liked. But when it was added to the game players received more requeue options that are "currently being used". It's not rocket science. ๐Ÿš€ Not sure why the devs/community despise gaming industry standards in regards to in-game features. It's an Apex Phenomenon. Y'all ๐Ÿ˜ณ Me ๐Ÿ˜’

How does going without make y'all feel better? That's ludicrous. ๐Ÿคจ

Y'all feel good about going without basic and advanced in-game features??? ๐Ÿ˜ Whah??? ๐Ÿซค OK. That's extremely interesting. ๐Ÿค”

    Fortnite has no problem stating:

    • Tournament matches are typically more stacked compared to a public or a ranked match, with matches going to small moving storm circles. Active Storm Surge is a frequent occurrence in tournament matches, especially in games of high point players.
  • These options have been available in RL and Fortnite for several years. Why doesn't Apex offer these types of competitive game modes? I consider Apex to be just as competitive, or more, than the games mentioned. Offering these types of options can help content creators, create hype, and boost the streaming numbers for the game. More attention for Apex means more money. ๐Ÿ’ธ EA/Respawn likes money, right? Go get it!!!! ๐Ÿ’ฐ

The additional cash revenue would come from comp players spending more and sponsorships. Right now Apex is just making money off of content creators, tryhards, and some casuals. A lot of players who play Apex are not spending money. If the services aren't being met for the wider audience/playerbase then you will not be served, accordingly.

Personally, I'm never spending money on Apex until you all move in a better direction. It's been a year since I've spent money. If you all don't develop the game more players, like myself, are just going to take what we can get for FREE!!! I'm just telling you the truth.

Something needs to be done, now!!! How long do we have to wait? Ranked isn't enough!!!! Developers are supposed to develop!!!!! Develop!!!!

I want to play Apex the way its meant to be played before I die, geez louise!!! No in-game tourneys before GTA6 is appalling.

Lastly, I used to think that the current Ranked mode could serve as a basis for more competitive development and a better environment, but the varying directions and expectations are too divisive. Originally I created the post below as a means to evolve the competitive side of Apex more, but it was wishful thinking and outlandish. I think in-game tournaments, which I've also mentioned before, would be better suited. Overall, you all need to do something to evolve the state of competitiveness for all players in the game. At least I've been the only one truly advocating for these changes on this forum. I'm not here for my own personal entertainment. Evolve your game!!!

  • Format:

The ALCS could be a total of 5 rounds for each session and servers.

The ALCS could consist of 120 premade squads for each server.

The Top 10 squads advance to the next round/match.

The Top 10 ranked squads advance to the Tournament Championship/Finals and would have to wait until the fourth round (Last Chance Match) is finished before playing the fifth match.

First Round Elimination Matches: 120 squads

Second Round Elimination Matches: 60 squads

Third Round Winners Match / Last Chance Squads: 30 squads (Bottom 10 squads have to wait until Last Chance Match)

Fourth Round Last Chance Match: 20 squads (Top 10 Winner squads automatically advance to Finals match)

Fifth Round Finals match: 20 squads (Winners squads vs Last Chance squads)

Every squad must have an auto-generated "team name" for identity, matchmaking, and formality purposes, similar to RL.

If a squad exits an ALCS server after the tournament has started they can not rejoin, similar to RL.

ALCS tournaments must be played out with the remaining teams on the server, similar to RL.

*For more details on how squad population works in online tournaments review RL, and maybe Fortnite.

Rewards can vary. The top rewards should be reserved for the top 3 squads in the tournament. Tournament Credits, similar to RL, can be utilized also.

Each ALCS session would last approximately 110 minutes and maybe 3 tournaments a day (or more).

The Apex Legends Community Discord can be a recruitment tool for players to find a squad.

The ALCS would need its own competitive tab on the main menu UI.

    Rocket League Tournaments/Cups:

    https://rocketleague.fandom.com/wiki/Tournament_Cup

Personally, I'm familiar with RL tournaments and have participated. RL tournaments allow solo queuing, but this option would not work for Apex.

    Fortnite Tournaments/Cups:

    https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/Tournament

I'm not familiar with Fortnite tournaments since I don't play much and they don't allow solo queuing, premade squads only.
