Bangalore is a useless character at this point

The title says it all.

After thousands of hours playing Bangalore, she had the potential to be fun - but the current way the game is set up makes her totally useless.

Her ultimate kick-off time is way too long, allowing enemies to simply run out of the blanket of bombs, whereas you have a quarter of a second to decide what to do about Horizon's ult.

Digital Threats seem to be in every corner of the map and readily available and attachable to guns which make no sense for them to be on - especially a wingman. All guns that a digital threat can be attached to are incredibly deadly and some of the most popular - so it's not like a person is forced to choose digi-threat versus automatic weapon.

There are a host of protection characters who nullify her ultimate and Q ability:

Her smoke does absolutely nothing against bloodhound, crypto, seer who can simply see through her smoke.

Valk can identify her through smoke (as if the smoke itself wasn't a dead giveaway) and escape her ultimate (doesn't happen that often).

Horizon, Loba, Wraith, Pathfinder, Gibraltar, and Vantage simply Q out of her ultimate. 

 

Octane and Wattson use their ultimates to escape.

 

Just a useless character. She has some utility on storm point given the large open spaces, but almost every team you fight is going to have some character (or often more) that are hard counters to anything she has to offer. She has no escape move - and NO - double time is NOT an escape move because it doesn't last long enough to actually leave a fight. 

Put less digital threats in the game - or make them more accessible to Bangalore only.

 

Reduce every part of the timing of her ultimate from how long it takes the ultimate animation to begin, to how long it takes the bombs to drop, to how fast the bombs detonate.

 

Stop putting scan characters in the game to cover up for the bad audio.

 

Give her three charges of smoke. 

 

Make double time last double the time.

  • I see your point, and I tend to agree. I would love it if they changed Bangalore's ultimate. I think instead of a delay with the missiles in the ground, they should just blow up immediately. Her double time should also last a bit longer. As for the smoke, 3 charges seems reasonable, but every character should have a counter or a few counters. Scan legends are those counters, so maybe keep that part the same. As for digital threat, just make it a much more rare drop. Easy fix to make Bangalore good again.

  • Bangalore's smoke is an odd skill. It can be great...and suck absolute b**ls. I agree with booting out legends such as Seer, his tactical is straight up wall hack and should not be in the game at all. Bang's smoke should at least trumph his passive. To me the tactical is a "lvl 2 skill" since you don't have it all the time, while the passive is just a lvl 1. If it doesn't cancel it out completely, some sort of interference should be in order. Bloodhound track-points being blurred/erased, no heart beats/indicator for Seer, no triangles for Valkyrie, no info on new girl (can't remember her name).

    An idea could be that her ultimate is changed to a laser designator. Point it and artillerry will fire at the point where you aim, but with delay.
    If people are pinned they are F:d. If they move it is much harder to hit, but maybe you can pre-aim and get lucky. Also the artillery needs direction to move.

    Fast version:
    Aim and fire (fire and forget) - artillery will send 5 rounds over 5 seconds at that location dealing 50 damage each in a medium size area,

    Moving target version:
    Aim and hold - artillery will fire 5 rounds while following the marker at the given second over 5 seconds.

    Pinned version:
    As the artillery will fire 5 rounds over 5 seconds, you can peak out and aim during the 5 seconds to relocate the target.
    2 rounds at target A -dip behind cover-, peak and aim: 2 rounds at target B,-dip behind cover- peak: 1 rounds at target C.
