That would be a rather big buff, would you take anything away to balance it out?
One idea was to temporarily reduce movement speed after using smoke, but I'm not sure how well that would feel when playing Bangalore.
Another thought was If you hit an enemy with the smoke canisters when it explodes it tags them making them identifiable as if you had the Digital Threat optic. This way you have to accurately hit the player with the smoke in order to get the extra ability. There could be an identifying powdered in the smoke grenade that is left on nearby players, allowing Bangalore to see them through the smoke.
Her glasses are able to detect the identifying powdered or residue. If you were to smoke the same player(s) again that were tagged you would be able to see them again because they still have the powder on them. This would also hold true if they were tagged early in-game and then ran through smoke late game. (if that is too OP then you could say each Bangalore has their own unique identifiable powered in their grenades, but that could be a neat experience when the late game as a Bangalore you happen to see another player tagged in smoke from earlier on and from the other perspective if you get tagged you need to remember not to run through the smoke!)
- 6 years ago@LaggLocked That would still have the problem of buffing Bangalore too much. Besides, the glasses are only there on some of the legendary skins. Default Bangalore doesn’t have glasses.
Tagging an enemy still has a similar effect to a dig threat, and Bangalore does not need that kind of buff. Sure, you could do it and nerf other parts of her, but why would you? Why rework a balanced character?- 6 years ago
Bangalore is more of a synergizing legend. While you gain no real advantage other than being hidden, you will give team mates such as Caustic or Bloodhounds, or those with danger visors on their weapons an advantage. And yes, Bangalore and Bloodhound fit together very well. Especially when being in an open field where you put down a huge field of smoke where you and your bloodhound friend can move freely in.

Hmm, I'm not sure if this would be buffing her too much, that's if we are even really talking about buffing her, it seems like she is considered balanced at this point. If that's the case then we should mark this as solved.
So she could be wearing contacts I suppose.
It is a similar but much more difficult effect to pull off. You can't just look down the sights and see the enemy light up. You actually have to aim your smoke grenade, hit them or get it to blow up and hit them, then you can see them tagged in the smoke, and they may only be partially lit up (if the game can be designed that way where only a part of the character model is lit up). Even if you did tag them at that point they can just run out of the smoke and the effect is gone.
I think it would be a really fun mechanic to use in-game.
