My bad. The videos now work lmao. I didn't realize that. But just watch them, this thread is comparing a crate weapon to a random pickup. Random pickups should be way below the damages of any crate weapon - ergo, NERF THIS POS.
You don't really have to be that close to your target. I lose to this gun with ranged weapons because they take my shield out in one shot, then take my health out in another. Add the fact this is a squad game and 3rd partying seems to be the only way people play - you got a PK tearing through you plus at the very least one other person hitting you. You can't even run away because one more shot from a PK and you're dead. I have had many people hide behind corners, charge the PK choke, pop up and end me. Like, BS. Even if you rush them, you close the distance and now even without it choked you're dead. Its just stupid you don't even have to aim with it.
With that said, the ONLY nerf I think this gun needs is a HUGE hip fire window. Now, if you hip fire, you HAVE to be super close to have all the projectiles hit. This is the breakdown I think it should be:
Hip Fire - HUGE box that only allows like 1-3 projectiles to hit you
ADS NO CHOKE - Now the hit box is shrunk to where it is now
ADS CHOKE - Normal behavior but max of 90 damage not 110.
The problem with this gun is nobody freaking aims. They always hip fire which allows them to move more easily, evade, and rush. Something I can't do with my Flatline or similar gun because I HAVE to ADS to hit my target at that range.

@Sir_NamedYou're missing my point.. I DONT need to ads with the PK OR the Eva-8 - and I am saying it SHOULD NOT be that way. The hip fire accuracy should be extremely unaccurate for ALL shotguns (yes even mastiff). You CAN hip fire someone at range with both Eva and PK and still do like 70+ damage, which is absurd when an AR can't even do that in one shot, and those ARE guns made for range. The balance of what guns are used for is extremely broken in Apex. It seriously removes a lot of the fun out of being accurate with say a havoc (prolly hardest to control AR in game) at close to 100m. Go and add the choke (which STAYS active for a few seconds after ADS) and the PK can now become ranged to an extent. The increased spread they added to it was a step in the right direction, but I still think damage fall off would force people to use the proper gun for the proper situation. As well as making shotgun hip fire accuracy very poor, forcing ppl to ads and slow their movement etc.
- 6 years ago@SolitaryMassacre I think the damage falloff would be good, but making the shotguns have really high spread at hip-fire as well is too much. Think about it, if you had to ads with a shotgun every time you want to kill someone at really close range, you wouldn’t do so well.
I don’t know how much range you are talking about when hip-firing with the Eva 8 and pk, but Eva 8 definitely doesn’t do like 70+ damage with one shot at range. Even one shot at close range with the Eva 8 doesn’t do 70+ unless you hit headshot. Pk does have a longer range, but in terms of mid range, you cannot hip fire and reliably deal damage without a charged choke.
Mastiff is actually pretty balanced, as it’s a package weapon.
The pk being charged after you ads is a feature, I think the feature is fine. It’s kind of like charging the havoc with the single shot and switching to auto, which allows you to shoot instantly as if you had three turbocharger.
Anyway, if you increase the spread so much that’d you would have to ADS all for every shot, the shotguns would then lose to many smgs in close range.- 6 years ago@Sir_Named I agree. The hip fire spread shouldn't be obnoxious. I will create a picture soon with something I think is reasonable to better express my thoughts.
Also, if you look at my videos, the PK and Mastiff at the same range do almost equal damage.. I don't think that a pick up weapon with resuppliable ammo should be on par with a crate weapon. Thats why the PK needs a nerf.
But you can't charge the havoc with a single shot then switch to auto, that was a glitch that is now patched.
But I do think both hip fire spread and damage fall off (for all guns) is needed.
