The leaver penalty is pretty minor, does barely anything to the leaver and locks the players in a 1v3/2v3. It should automatically close out the game and drop everyone back in the que.
Also Add exponential leave timers
1x 24 hr = 15 lock
2x 24 hr = 1h lock
3x 24 hr = 1 day lock
4x 24 hr = banned from mode
@Poc808The leaver penalty is disabled right now so you are free to leave, also from what I read when penalties are active only the first person recieves a penalty then the 2nd and 3rd are able to leave unless they are in a premade duo
Aside from afking/inting I can't imagine many reasons for leaving.
I also don't think "bad teammates" is a reasonable reason to leave, I think that's players dog ego getting in the way and they should stick to quing with a group or stay out of Arena.
Apex Legends is a game in which a single team member can drag down the entire performance of the team. In Battle Royale, I meet that player likely once and then maybe again when I already forgot he existed. In Arena, I have to fight alongside that player for 3 rounds straight. If he performs badly and stupidly in one round, he'll do it again for the next rounds. If that one Pathfinder thinks doing the same thing 3 rounds in a row only to die 3 times in a row to literally the same thing, then that's the definition of insanity, and I'm not fighting alongside insane people.
The leaver penalty was a mistake to begin with. You can clearly see that a lot of people aren't willing to play in a team. So why should I stick around these people? The things you do to me, I'll return. Usually with the loss of a player.
By having the leave option in the first place the developers of the game actually incourage leavers. Dont blame the leavers. Blame the developers.

I agree that the challenges shouldn't be part of arena or they should just add a "swap" button that just flips the challenges between the two depending on what you prefer to que up as.
I haven't had a problem with matchmaking other than the occasional master/pred showing up (prolly qued with friends) but it's the same as quing up for 3s in BR, I don't understand what's the big difference other than playstyle (matches are relatively fast and lives "matter less" so people play more recklessly).
I don't think anyone can really justify leaving with a solid answer that isn't a form of "I'm good and my teammates are bad so I shouldn't have to play with them". If not these same problems exist in BR in both casual and ranked and people have been playing with it all the same.
How bout you just make friends and dont worry bout it.
Actually a really skilled player can make up for even two bad teammates. So maybe you should just get better.
