Caustic gas traps and ultimate

Caustic's gas is a huge disadvantage to his teammates. I get that we can barely see through it but it slows teammates down which could end up getting us killed. Crypto's ultimate and Wattson's traps don't harm or discombobulate teammates, however, Caustic's gas does. None of my friends really like to play Caustic because of this and being a Caustic main, it's hard to play him when my teammates get affected by the gas. Not a lot of people play Caustic because of this and people didn't really play Crypto because of a similar reason. If Crypto can get this buff then why can't Caustic? Everything he has makes him a good defense character including the overall even power he has over enemies, however, he feels more like a solo character. If it's a team game, then Caustic shouldn't put his teammates at a disadvantage especially if the gas goes off because of an enemy and the teammate is stuck in it. The enemy can use the gas traps to their advantage to slow us down if they're far away. This disadvantage is aggravating because if it's your teammate's gas that's slowing you down, you become an easy target for anyone wanting to push. When the traps are meant to slow down or stop enemies from pushing on your location. It's something to consider and in the ability description of Caustic, it is not mentioned that the gas will slow teammates down.
