- @Saruman-Yay0 I mean your gas is gunna do more damage so that's a pretty good trade of for a caustic player, plus your teammates won't be blurred either.
- @DK9027 The trade off is too big for just 2 additional damage.
Exactly, the damage is nothing.
- @DK9027 The damage is nothing even with 3 ticks in the gas they can make that up with 1 sirenge and most players are only in it for 2 ticks so 4 more damage to them wow thats a lot more that won't even save me a dam bullet with any weapon.
No point whatsoever. TTV Wraiths and Cheesefinders probably got tired of dying by mindless pushing Caustic's positions and complained alot or one of the devs got very angry for the same reason and took away the ONLY thing that stopped you from pushing because the dmg whas ignored by everyone and making it deal 2 more damage i consider a spit in a face, tbh. I've played Caustic since season 0, I got around 7k kills with him and I fell in love with how amazing the voice acting is, how difficult it is to master him gameplay-wise, human bear animations, coolest lore, great quips, best melee (imo) and it pisses me off that we keep getting punished for knowing how to play him effectively.
"...we’re attacking what we think is the greatest contributor to this frustration". You got trapped in my gas, isnt that suppose to be frustrating?
Now its gonna be a nightmare to play him, because now he's got nothing to offer. A HUGE hitbox, 0 mobility, open area maps with buildings that have 4 or 5 different doors. No way to play aggressively, no way to play diffensively. He is a troll legend now. Wanna lose or ruin a game real quick? Pick Caustic.
He needed a buff really, not the other way around. Instead they just killed the legend that ALREADY had the worst kills per match rate out of all legends, combined with an average to low pick rate.
BTW devs if u read this, could u please be so kind to make every legend in the game say "My vision is clear" when they enter the gas? Thanks.

I truly believe whoever came up with this ridiculous "solution" to the gas problem, is someone who doesn't play the game.
There's literally no other possible reason.
Even the most clueless players in the game IMMEDIATELY realize that caustic is not only a very difficult legend to master, but one that has serious drawbacks to make up for its advantages.
So, DanielZKlein, what about you PLAY the game before pulling such a ridiculous nerf to an already gimped legend?
Regardless, I believe there's a good solution to the issue: since the "damage buff" is obviously mentally challenged, make it so that traps can't be oneshotted at the base, and that they share the player's revive kit hitpoints, so that they can be used as 'cover', so they don't disappear once the gas effect is gone.
This way, since traps are ridiculously useless without the blur, absolutely stupid and negligible in 90% of game situations (open space), and clearly worthless as damage dealing devices, they at least would allow some tactical positioning to open skirmish scenarios.
Sry but i like the change, and i am not a wraith or trashfinder main
I also like this change. Caustic was one of the most annoying characters to fight against, only topped by Wraith. He already received a buff by making his gas not affect Team mates. That's quite an advantageous factor that people seem to ignore.
Gas still slows.
Caustic still sees opponents highlighted
Gas does more damage
Opponents can now see you camping in the corner lol
To be honest, all I see when people ask for Caustic buffs are players who would like his gas to insta-kill. Now a nerf is being made due to popular criticism, and then suddenly he's dead.
Caustic was buffed to be more team friendly already, and even then people continued to demand buffs to him. And that has shown me that people want Caustic to deny an area without any possibility of getting through. They want their gas to act like an absolute sight-taking wall that only your team can look through. They want their gas to screw over people entirely. Really, does that sound like balance to you? Imagine Wattson's electric fence would only allow their team mates to look through it. Imagine if Bangalore's smoke would completely obstruct the sight except for your team. Sounds balanced to me.
Really, people have their opinions and that's okay. And this is one opinion I don't agree with.
