cheating and smurfing not being addressed?

Just because they are running good sites, etc etc doesn't mean they're actually doing that well.

Note that Apex is a F2P game, so the amount of cheaters will of course be high, as there is almost no risk to losing your account.

Also every change made to their security system is done internally, so there is no way for us of knowing what they're working on and how much they are doing.

I think it's kind of unfair to assume that they're not doing anything, as they could be doing a lot of work for us.

Without them the issue could be way worse, that's for sure.

It's also that a lot of users are really quick to assume someone is cheating, so this also could blow the proportion of cheaters way out of scale.

The cheating issue on Overwatch isn't particularly good either... same goes for Valorant.

Every game will be plagued by them, especially F2P ones.

Whilst you might experience more cheaters on x game and less on y, the exact opposite can be experienced by other users.

I honestly can't tell you a smurf from a real good first time player.

I can't say 100% for sure when people are cheating either. 

I don't know how much or how little EA cares about this game, but it is probably less than the people at Respawn, who worked very hard at creating it. 

Companies worth billions often don't care much about their own products.  Look at how little love Microsoft shows to Windows, that is their flagship product.  When they are rolling around in their billions, the unpaid intern walks into the room, and says, "Sir that software we give everyone for free to force developers to buy our expensive content licenses?  Well it is broken sir and people are unhappy.".   They just dismiss it.  Because they know the general public won't switch to another OS.  But I did, decades ago. 

EA publishes Respawn's games, their next money maker by Respawn is Jedi: Survivor game at the end of April.  They look at the future and this game is the past in their eyes.  There are at least 2 more Star Wars games to be announced. I am sure someone at Respawn still holds a candle for Apex Legends, but I cannot honestly tell you that EA has any concern about it at all.

Cheaters basically found a way to block reporting.

I just got killed by a team that was cheating on new accounts, and I ended up spectating my teammate, (and the last one who was alive), however the only tab given was the spectate one, I didn't have a death recap tab. Once my teammate had gotten killed, there was still no death recap tab, yet the summary tab appeared and I was then specating the cheating team which I had reported, (which the bugged UI seems to indicate a cheat much like how they can force your spectation onto another squad even when they're still alive).

Why I think its a cheat as well: Season 16 for whatever reason removed the ability to report the last squad and the death recap tab was also removed from that fight. Why? No idea. However cheats work by finding weaknesses in the game's code. (For example, wall hacks work because cheaters get the location data sent to and from the server from all players, and with that data they can pinpoint everyone on the map). So as far as I'm aware of and from what I'm seeing, EA/Respawn only enabled cheaters to cheat more.

Not being able to report when dying to the last team needs to be patched out as its only going to enable cheaters to become fully unreportable and combined with force spectation and hiding their usernames, no one is going to be able to report them and we already know that Easy Anti-Cheat doesn't seem to care.

What I can see being the next big thing:

1) You die and place 3rd-20th or so place, killer's names are <Legend> tags, there's no death recap, and you're now watching a squad that's 200+ meters away from where you had died
2) You die and place 2nd, and its the same as above, where you get no reportable usernames, no death recap, but the difference is that the last team's name won't be shown at all as "this is your champion" screen would still show their <Legend> tag, and right when you die any and all HUD UI (like that team's health) goes away.

As a player, this just looks like a non-verbal way of saying "we don't care" (and/or) "we can't fix this problem" (...) so we're just going to phase out reporting and pretend its not a thing. (They kind of already do that with smurphs).

(The kill leader is one of the cheaters, even though I had to remove their name).

Rank is FLOODED with cheaters. I keep seeing console players with PC aim (strikepacks/xim), there's way too many wall hackers, and people I've reported a few days, weeks, even months ago are still playing, despite aimbotting.

@Midnight9746What is your evidence for this constant cheating? I've read your posts for a long time regarding it yet I wonder what the difference is vs you landing all your shots. I play pc too and actually think there are less cheaters vs console as console does not show numbers. Every time I die I can see why. Why do you think every match you play has cheaters in it? It is virtually impossible and accuracy is pretty easy to control anyway..

And also, strike pack offers "constant aim" instead of "accurate aim". You can aim better than it can is the normal response to it. The difference is it can allow you to do other things, like jump while not having to think about recoil control or tracking. So, just accurate aim alone is not a reason to suspect cheating. Some can shoot straight with a controller, easy, not that hard, depending on settings and I have yet to see a difference.

edit - if there was any real evidence those players would be banned, but I do not see it? I am not here to choose sides yet I have yet to see it legit happen. And this is coming from someone who does not trust EA/Respawn.
