At this point it’s very clear that it’s a broken input method. The aim assist with inhuman tracking makes it that anyone who gets into aim assist range can beam you without even touching their stick. I thought this game was about skill, but it seems like participation throphies should be a more fitting title. it’s so sad that this is what this game has turned into.

@XxColdFangxX You forgot how occasionally aim assist will drift onto a downed guy and get you beamed or drift onto the guy you’re not trying to kill at the moment if aim assist actually decides to work.

You forgot about half the time it doesn’t even briefly pull onto the guy you’re trying to shoot if there’s 2 other players nearby.

@XxColdFangxX That has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve heard. Imperialhal switched from MnK to controller and instantly went on to win ALGS. Lou, the guy who invented jitter aiming swapped to controller because it was impossible to keep up. Guess what lobbies I’m playing? The highest tier, and there you shouldn’t have one input method give you a crazy advantage. Every pro controller player says how busted aim assist is, but here you and your buddy are saying that you need it in bronze lobbies. Please stop commenting on this thread because you’re only doing it in bad faith.

The pro scene has been taken over by aim assist because of 2 things: inhuman tracking ability especially through screen clutter and consistency. I can tap strafe all I want, but you can’t shoot whilst tapstrafing. I’d swap the ability to tap strafe for inhuman tracking in a heartbeat.Movement doesn’t really do that much against any good controller player, they’ll just destroy you before you can finish your tap strafe. Like I said, I play in high tier lobbies and have done so for years at this point, movement doesn’t do anything there, that’s just for pubstompers who want to style on unskilled players.

There is one simple solution and i dont know why this is not implemented.Just separate m&k players from controllers, same as preds are separated from bronze.Is it so hard not to mix these two types of players?

Every time I see one of these post it's always someone with misconceptions about how aa works.

Isn't even remotely how aa works in the slightest. You have to put input in on the controller to keep up with a moving target.
If you get behind me in a fight, I have to turn. AA is not going to follow you for me.
If you get out of my crosshair, I have to move the sticks to follow you.
Please stop using misconceptions as facts.

@XxColdFangxXThere’s no misconception, I tried it out myself and after an hour without prior controller experience o was getting far more consistent beams than with mouse and keyboard. I barely use the aim stick, it just locks on and you micro-adjust if even at all. You basically have to get into the AA lock-on bubble and then the computer basically takes over for you. There’s a reason many people are switching, it’s an easy feel good boost without actually requiring much skill.
edit: and just as an FYI, I’m a multiple times master player with 3500+ hours in this game. I have somewhat of an idea how things work.

Now you're barely using your stick instead of not at all? No offense but I've noticed mnk players will say just about anything to make their point seem correct.
I've played on console for 20 years. I like the simplicity of the controller over mnk. I play against people with aa all the time and have seen good aa locks and awful aa locks.
What aa has never done, is follow a target. There is however a brief pull, but as soon as they're out of the crosshair, it's gone.
I've tested and looked for it over and over again in the fireing range on moving dummies and in game and I've found the aa lock and pull to be very inconsistent.
It's hardly ever shown up in game against an actual opponent, but it'll happily pull to a moving dummy for less than a second before the dummy moves, but then doesn't want to re lock when the dummy comes back.
But it's funny, cause if aa is doing all the aiming for me, then why can I turn my aa off, and with a bit of practicing to adjust, still get within damage range of when aa is on? If it was truly op I should be getting way more damage with it on.

@BennSauna If EA takes out aim assist then they probably will take out strafing lurches and other PC specific movement techniques. And this being apex aim assist doesn’t even work 90% of the time. It’s just there so you can actually attempt to keep steady on your target. It also doesn’t track strafing. Sometimes PC players are just that predictable. Another thing is it’s a lot easier to jump while shooting on PC and on console you have to actually spend hours or days at a time trying to learn that. You also get your whole arm to aim. Console only get their thumb.

Just please stop complaining about aim assist. PC players clearly get an advantage on every other thing in the game. It’s just there so we console players get a chance against PC players that abuse the extra movement techniques.

Exactly. I can't even count the number of times I've had that happen and the fact that the og claims for it to be better within an hour of playing on controller and thinks it requires very little skill to use one tells me they known very little about what it's like using a controller.
I've had to fight against my aa just to keep up with moving opponents and that's after adjusting look sensitivities, if it weren't for the fact that I don't want to relearn how to play a game I've already struggled so much to progress in I'd just turn my aa off.

I’d like to respond to what both of you have said, but it’s hard to argue when it’s obvious that you guys have no idea how AA works at the highest skill levels. Especially bringing in the “you aim with your whole arm argument”. You’re literally getting inhuman tracking that’s done by a computer

If it only works good for some then it is not op-because that's how op things work. It has to majorly benefit everyone who uses it for it to be op.

High skilled controller players are high skilled because they spend as much time playing the game and learning and gaining experience as much as a high skilled PC players.
So what, I get beamed consistently across the map by a high skilled PC player I should automatically say he's cheating because PC has precision advantage? No.
All anyone does in these post is look for any excuse to blame anyone but themselves for why they are losing.
It's not inhuman tracking when it doesn't even follow you. Yet for whatever reason you mnk players insist that a very brief pull that doesn't even last and hardly ever shows up is some form of aim bot.
