Does apex actually punish cheaters

They'll ban players every once in a while, but they just create a new account and log back in. Respawn and EA don't do anything meaningful to punish cheaters.

They should track IPs of banned folk, and if many cheats are reported from accounts at the same IP, then IP ban them.
Creating new accounts to continue cheating and bypass their bans should be untolerated.

  @Zulkiers I totally agree. Anything to control smurfing and cheaters creating new accounts whenever they want to. I also think we should be able to name & shame verified cheaters. I know that violates the TOS here, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

    Yes, The "naming and shaming" rule on this forum is utterly ridiculous when it comes to clips.. Perhaps we dont have to say mean things but to just post gameplay clips of certain situation is not "shaming". It is scenarios that happened in your game, from your POV. How can it be "shaming"??.
    And in my experience, it will almost more often than not become the one posting who has to be ashamed since 9/10 clips posted will have little-to-no proof what so ever of cheating and he will appear a blamer/clueless.

  They do. Many "innocent" people on this very forum complains that their gaming rig has been banned from Apex. So be mindful when buying a gaming computer second hand that the reason why he sell it might be because its banned and you wont be able to play either hehe.

    @Balladalidila That's not how IP banning works. It bans households, not PCs.
    That would be more along the lines of MAC banning.
    They'd still be able to buy new PCs to bypass the ban.
    That doesn't solve the problem.
    IP banning does.
    Now then, if many people use the same wifi, and someone has created many hacker accounts and got repeatedly banned, then they will ban that IP and no one on that wifi will be able to play Apex.
    Let's say you're in apartments with non-individual wifi and such a case happens to you. At least you'll know you live with a hacker, because they got your complex banned because your complex has everyone using the same wifi.
    That is rare I think, most complexes use private wifi, yes? Each room has its own wifi? Shouldn't be much of a problem then.
