EA and Respawn should reflect. (adjustment of the aim assist, matchmaking, ETC)

Hello. I'm a Korean user who enjoys Apex Legends in Korea.

Please understand that there are some awkward parts in grammar by translating my ideas into English and posting them.

In fact, Apex Legends users in Korea often leave games feeling very disappointed by the difficulties of playing this season, patch notes about next season,

and even progamers and famous streamers criticize Apex Legends, seriously considering quitting Apex Legends and playing other games...

As a user who loves Apex Legends, I'm so sorry about this situation..Why aren't you listening to users enough?

First, I would like to talk about the adjustment of the aim assist of the pad controller.

Due to the pad's aim assist, MnK users are constantly complaining, and as a result, many users quit games,

and even professional gamers who used MnK feel sorry for this and turn to pads, allowing the team to achieve higher grades. Isn't it too unfair?

I'm not saying that I need to unilaterally delete the aim assist on the pad.

I'm just saying we need a little downgrade.

In fact, users of Apex Legends are turning their eyes to a game called "The Finals."

There is also an aim assist of the pad in "The Finals,"

but there are many Apex legend users who are paying attention to "The Finals" because MnK users are not overwhelmingly at a disadvantage.

The next thing I want to say is to fix matchmaking and solve converter and cheat program problems.

Yesterday, while watching Apex Legends on Twitch,

I saw a broadcaster whose rank was gold matched with Master and Predator,

and I thought the matchmaking system was a real mess.

Many users play casual games due to matchmaking problems,

but due to the current event, the map is so dark that it is difficult to play the game.

On top of that, there are a large number of users who openly use converters and cheat programs in Tokyo servers in Tokyo.

Because of these problems, progamers are even cursing and mocking Apex Legends.

With so many users leaving the game and not receiving much attention due to this problem, clubs are starting to break up the Apex Legends team.

However, Respawn and EA think nothing of this...I'm so angry!

In addition, please give me more support for ALGS and competitions in many countries...

Too many teams are breaking up because EA and Respawn have less investment in ALGS....

In fact, there is a competition called ALKC in Korea, and the grand final is scheduled in December this year,

but many people still don't know about it at all. I'm so sorry about this situation!

I'm so jealous that Valorant users are entertained with more invigorating competitions...

It would be hard to ask for the Seoul server back,

but at least we need more firm and faster sanctions against the numerous malicious users on the Tokyo server...

I hope EA and Respawn will love Apex Legends a little more and serve us in a better direction.

  • @reconzeroWell here's the issue you see, I understand most people are not able to put a whole lot of time into practicing to get good enough with aim, but that also applies to MnK players. Currently I feel that if you want to be good with MnK you have to spend a ridiculous amount of time practicing it in order to compete and even then you'll still be at a disadvantage. That's why I think a nerf to aim assist (not a complete removal) would be good. That way the amount of time spent practicing would reflect on both sides, and MnK players won't feel as pressured to make aim training their second job, as you put it.

As far as separating the lobbies, I don't think it's possible at this point.

  • I agree. Aim-assist has always been an issue but less people were aware of how over tuned pads were when the integration of the two inputs happened.

Years later, aim-assist is severely over powering mouse and keyboard on all levels of play; casual, competitive, and professional in both battle royal and arenas.

There’s a clear disconnect between developers and the player community. And apparently that disconnect is a global feature of EA and Respawn.

Apex legends could have 3x the revenue and player base if they actually implemented balances in a timely fashion. EA and respawn must lack of leadership, vision, and communication for such a good product to be performing as poorly as it is..

  • @TspinWhat actually happened is people found the right settings to use, such as 4-3 Linear no deadzone, etc. And now 4-1 Linear with ALC per optics which is even stronger. Because for some reason if you turn on the per optics in ALC but turn off ALC, those per optics settings still apply to the normal presets (For some reason using ALC as opposed to the normal presets has less rotational aim assist, so having that off is ideal, but the per optics settings still apply)

Either way, it's a much different climate now with those settings as opposed to when everyone was using 3-3 classic or even 4-3 classic with small deadzone. You could argue that controller aim hasn't changed that much since then, but these new settings make it easier for players to aim better if they aren't that experienced, and make playing on controller more accessible. As someone who never played FPS on controller, I found that I aim way better with linear as opposed to classic, and my accuracy with R99 for example was on avg 10-15% better than on MnK in training scenarios.

What's also changed is the idea of stick drift. People used to complain about stick drift but now it's acceptable to have some, as you would have it either way with Linear. It's a clear sign the raw input from the stick isn't being limited and as long as there's some tiny amount of input, aim assist will be active.

Devs should take this into account and realize that now that people have found the optimal settings for aiming, it's time to make some adjustments. There are far less casual players playing Apex these days than there were 3 or 4 years ago.

Thank you for replying to my post!

    I sympathize with your reply.

As you said, Apex Legends seems to have a lot of conflict between pads and MnK users at the moment, more than other games...

And, I was honestly a little flustered when I saw the developers communicating with users about Killcode Stories via Reddit recently...

The developers can communicate with users about the story, but I wonder why they don't largely reflect the users' wishes for problems in the game...

In Korea, the developers of several highly popular games (Lost Ark, Maple Story, etc.) are making great efforts to facilitate communication with users through various meetings and official broadcasts and to improve the inconveniences they are experiencing as soon as possible.

Through this, users can play more comfortable games by improving inconvenience, and they have high expectations as they learn about various new characters, skins, and additional contents that will be updated in the future.

Through this, the popularity of games has continued for a long time.

But in the case of Apex Legends, despite its huge popularity in so many countries and huge profits, it's a pity that this kind of communication is not working well...

If EA and Respawn listened to users' opinions more than they do now, they would have been able to play games in a more pleasant environment..

I hope EA and Respawn will stop being stubborn and listen to the opinions of the users a little more...

  • @csj711 Honestly I think the reason is pretty is simple, EA and Respawn are American companies and the vast majority of players in the NA are playing on controller, including the devs themselves. So us MnK players voices are kind of drowned out, unfortunately. "The needs of the many" I guess. But I still feel like for a game that prides itself on competitive integrity, this is something that needs to be addressed.

You seem to be familiar with pad and pad's aim assist.

And there's a lot I can relate to what you say.

Through Twitch broadcasting, I'm also seeing Korean Master and Predator MnK users collapsed by lower rank pad users like platinum or diamond.

What's even sadder is that MnK users, who are masters and predictors, are getting tired of the reality that is upsetting about this situation but not changing much, and are eventually playing happier in other FPS games like Valorant, The Finals, PUBG, etc.

This problem is getting worse due to malicious users using converters.

However, EA and Respawn are not responding effectively and sanctioning this.

Even malicious users who use converters say this. "Thank you so much for EA and Respawn, which don't impose big sanctions on users who use converters. LOL".

There is an increasing number of malicious users who look down on users who play normally like that...I'm so angry...

To put it simply, the converter I told you about is hardware and software that recognizes MnK as a pad so that MnK can also receive the aim assist of the pad.

I'm telling you based on the Tokyo server.

In short, many people have known since malicious users in "certain countries" who used VPNs to access Tokyo servers and overuse cheat programs to destroy Apex Legends' environment began using converters smoothly. (I'm speaking based on Tokyo servers.)

In Korea, Apex Legends has been officially released and is still in service, but since the existing Seoul server has disappeared, Korean users are playing on the Tokyo server.

However, malicious users in that 'certain country' using cheat programs and converters are suffering greatly.

Many people are saying that this situation may have happened because the pad's aim assist is powerful in the first place.

  • @csj711 Ah yes, I know about the software. I don't think it's very common here in the US, but I could be wrong. I agree that if aim assist wasn't powerful in the first place, there would be less incentive to use something like that. I could see though how it would be difficult for devs to deal with something like that. I find any form of cheating to be abhorrent. If cheating was necessary to win, I would just rather not play the game.

    I agree with you, too.

I don't understand cheating for victory. It will be fun and rewarding if you win fairly and with your own skills..

So I'm even more angry because of the current situation...
