@Westhebird Well first off, no it's not, because I'd rather hear footsteps than try to track your constant ping. Also, when you turn off pings, you can't hear pings for ammo, attachments, plans to watch, defend, etc. Plus, when you ping spam an enemy "behind me" its not like it's readable on screen. Because it's behind you. So its just a constant noise and ping flashing at the bottom of your screen. I single ping every few seconds is plenty, any decent player just needs a relative indication of whereabouts and will be better off being able to use your senses, sounds and steps, etc to outplay another player. Its a lot easier to know someone is behind you from their footsteps (regardless of audio issues in this game) than from a constant ping drowning out all other sounds.
Also, if ur that guy doing that, JUST USE YOUR MIC INSTEAD, right!? Cuz "Behind the car, on the roof, etc is so much more useful than trying to locate pings especially around houses and buildings. I may think your pinging inside the house when u are in fact outside.
But even more importantly, the issue is say when your teammate is crated, and wants to ping spam IMMEDIATELY to get their banner or to respawn. A. There is 90 seconds to get ur banner. Chill and let me finish this fight first, don't ruin both our chances by blocking out my sounds. Also, it's a toxic trait, and should be reportable or automatically reported.
You pushed, you went down, you got crated. Don't ping spam because you got yourself in a bad situation. It might be a team game but its not your teammates responsibility to keep you alive. Picking up your teammates doesn't take precedent over staying alive. The biggest points in ranked come from placement, not kills or revives.
