yes just look at the time to kill, the fact that you can shoulder peek for 100 damage , the amount of shots you have to hit in order to down a person in % and how you dont really have to be accurate.
the ammount of shotgun clips against any other weapon class is way too high 3/4 of shotguns are very good (2-3 tap) they take considerably less skill than any other gun and deal way more damage also you can miss 60% of your shots and still win because they are just that op.
also compare the rechamber time against any sniper rifle … also how many clips have you seen of ppl wiping whole squads with one shotgun clip against snipers ,smgs and assault rifles.
i didn't really use shotguns for the first 7 seasons because I was bad with them (in any game) but i always said the pk was op until the mastiff came out and i hated shotguns even more …so in season 8 i startet playing shotguns myself and they are really really op. idk what lobbys those shotgun advocates play but every person above gold will 2 pump you out of your life.
lets put it that way if you have a shotgun and you loose against a r99 you SUCK! hit 2/5 (40%) pk shots for a max of 142 damage or hit 91% of your r99 spray for 125…

pk 5 shots max 121 damage per shot = 605
r99 20 shots max 17 damage per shot = 340
and thats all headshots!

pk: 99 per shot =495 per mag
r99: 11 per shot = 220 per mag
and you can find both of them on the floor at any given time.
imagine you and a enemy land in the same spot he gets the pk you the r99 who would win?
