How to fix Heal Expert passive

At the start of season 23, I loved that supports were getting some attention. I think they’re a class that definitely needed it. But now, after a while, I feel some things need tuning. Specifically the heal expert passive granting walk speed and double value on small heals. Walk speed is fine, but having the double heals is fundamentally broken. Shooting a whole team for 50 in one magazine, you should feel like that is something you can push off of, but instead the entire enemy team is supports and can heal that just as fast as you dealt the damage and can be incredibly frustrating at times. This passive alone makes every other class feel extremely weak by itself, because being able to heal quickly mid fight is the difference between life and death.

I feel a solution to this problem (while still retaining some power to the passive) would be to remove the double small heals, keep the walk speed, and let supports carry 6 shield cells/syringes in a stack. They can support their team by carrying more meds for everyone, while not punishing players for dealing good amounts of damage by just healing 50 shield in 2 seconds.

  • @Pri0rityGaming1 Not to mention that in ring 4, its not as scary anymore as a Support legend, as you can double heal and get out of the ring. Everyone else can pull off at least one syringe, but then after that, their health is below 25 HP, so by the time they get halfway through the second syringe, they're dead.

    Medkits on the other hand, take way too long to use, and only a heat shield could provide enough time needed to use it. However even then, they move slower than Support does while healing, so they don't get too far from the heat shield.

    Exactly. I have yet to come in to this “timer” that disables the passive when sitting in zone too long.

    @Pri0rityGaming1 They needed to readd the gold armor perk after the flak from removing it with armor upgrades system.
    I would personally prefer if they add a hopup slot to everyone's inventory to allow them to equip an armor hopup: boosted healing, the gold armor perk.
    It was my crutch in late rings because rings would move 5 times faster than I can balloon jump. Fast healing makes the difference.
    When it got removed, I couldn't survive as long on anyone anymore, unless I was lucky to land near the final ring.
    Now, I can only do it on supports, can't do it on Fuse or Rampart anymore.
    With Armor Hopup, anyone will be able to do it again. Finding it like they used to find gold armor. It will be just like old days, but with armor upgrades.

    Yea I can kinda get that, but having that as a passive without doing any work to earn it is kind of broken. Maybe they can have certain legends earn it as an upgrade instead of Battpack or something.

    That would also be broken likewise. You know how many people are red armor by the end of the first ring? A lot. Not me though, I edge drop.
    I hate hotdroppers...
    Anyways. My idea as armor hopup with the same rarity as the gold armor of old would give it to everyone as it was before armor upgrades.
    That way people don't have it on drop, and don't have it by eliminating 75% of the lobby in a single gunfight.
    They have to find it or eliminate someone who found it to get it.

    @Zulkiers I disagree that it would be broken (compared to how it is now at least), I think some legends other than supports could benefit from having an upgrade like this. Take Alter, for example, she could teleport through a wall to quickly use a cell and get back in the fight. It would work well with her kit and would give a little more power to a weak legend. I do think it would be interesting to be something found on the ground, but I don’t think it would make a lot of impact being in the loot pool.

    Currently, we no longer have the "Apex Legends" game, only "Support Legends". The developers ruined this season with big changes only for the support classes.

    Double healing, loba buff and mirage invisibility - this should never be in this game. This is just sick.


    I can't play my favorite legends anymore because it's simply not possible. Respawn forced players to choose characters if they wanted to achieve "something more" this season. Is this how it should be? You're constantly fighting against teams of 3 support legends and you know you don't have many chances.

    Can you really not see how the developers are trying so hard to destroy this game?

    No, I won't play Loba or Mirage. You should balance the characters so that each has a similar balance. Currently, there is no such thing as balance in your game. Developers who came up with many bad ideas this season should be fired immediately. Hire developers who will commit to their work and fix Apex Legends.

    It doesn't matter what they do, there will always be people claiming something is overpowered or underpowered. I still remember forums arguments of Bloodhound, half a dozen people on each side claiming either overpowered or underpowered. People saying they hate fighting bloodhounds because of her abilities, others saying they hate playing as or with bloodhounds because her kit stinks.
    It's all in the eye of the beholder.
    As such, why do you think devs never listen to the community? They can't make up their minds!

    I like the buff to Mirage, but he is still just dead.
    Loba... I'm still unsure. Still sad I lost the height and distance perk.
    I still think NewCastle is better.

    I would prefer the gold armor perk be something universally usable.

    As for revives, them removing the gold knockdown just further impacted the support meta in favor of supports, as now non-support teams no longer have access to decent revives. That is the worst decision they made out of all of it.

    Give Skirmisher hover as a class perk, buff Mad Maggie's scan passive effect, and give maggie's current scan effect to all Assaults.
    -- Yes Maggie keeps scan, but also reveals targets hit squad wide instead of just for herself. Also another reason for keeping it on her is squad perks are disabled in mixtape.

    Controllers: Reduce damage taken by 10%-20% (15%) when not moving.

    Caustic: Improve gas damage against living targets, and make living targets take damage every time they enter the gas instead of on a delayed entry. This does not improve against downed, only living.

    Revenant: Bring back his Silencer Kit as an option. Shield kit is more useless than caustic, who is more useless than Alter. Etc.
