I want you to add a setting for people with weak eyes.

Apex's shield effects, abilities, and ultimate effects when hit by an opponent are often excessive, making it difficult to see the opponent and the aim.
Even though bullets don't hit, the effect makes everything invisible and it's no longer a game.
In fact, it hurts my eyes, so please set the effect to be gentler on the eyes.

If you lower the brightness, it will be a little better,
If the brightness is lowered too much, it will be too dark to see the enemy indoors at all.
There is a limit to changing the current settings.

  • @wrong_images I've been struggling with this exact issue since day 1. People complain about the mm all the time but the visual and audio issues along with performance issues are causing most of my deaths. I'd say for me the most annoying character right now is Fuse. They keep spamming grenades all the time to the point where you can't see anything, plus his ult - the fire, makes you completely blind from what's happening around you even if it doesn't hit you. Thermite grenades do the same. The visual effect obscures everything so much that you don't even know what to shoot at. And the character models blend into the background way too easily. The other day we ran into 2 Lifeline bots, just crouching next to a wall. We ran past them and didn't even notice. One moved so I saw and killed them. We ran past that same wall twice and only the 3rd time did I notice another 3 of the same bots crouched next to them just left from the very same wall in the corner! I don't have bad eyesight either, don't need glasses or anything. I have none of these issues with other games I play. Character models tend to stand out a bit from the background, like they should. I've never had this issue in Fortnite ever, or even Destiny or the COD titles I played in the past. I watched a live stream of Xdefiant last night and the visuals are so crisp it's crazy. Characters stand out and the optics on the weapons are super clean compared to Apex. I don't know why they insist on having this stuff in the game when it degrades the experience like that.
  • Personally I don't mind any of it. The graphics or visual effects are literally part of the game mechanics in that you can consider they are intended to obscure your ability to target the enemy.

@MrGreenWithAGun Nah overall the game is very bad in visuals. People on pc use Nvidia filters to fix the issue for a reason.

I struggle myself aswell I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s the colopallet or what ever but I have issues seeing people without filters lol
  • @matzesingtI agree, and on some parts of the map your crosshair disappears completely.

Could you please advise on the filters you mentioned, like how or where to apply it / find it? I've Googled this many times but most people just talk about in game settings which doesn't really fix anything.

edit. never mind found it in overlay. thx anyway

@MrGreenWithAGunThe effect of the shield when attacking blurs the outline of the opponent's character and greatly reduces the opponent's visibility.
Isn't it strange that the shield has the effect of reducing the opponent's visibility?

Other problems include the fact that abilities and ults that have visibility-inhibiting effects may do more than hide the desired location, making it impossible for some people to see the entire screen.
Horizon's ulto pulls the screen all the way in, but for some people, that makes it impossible to see everything around them.
It can also make a big difference in the playing environment.
If there are a lot of effects, the lower the frame rate, the harder it is for people in lower play environments to see. Many things appear instantaneously and dizzyingly, making the screen look like a frame-by-frame sensory experience and making it difficult to recognize the movement around you.

@blackeyeriver Yea I don’t know the shortcut now, but ingame you press shift f2 or something like that. You can check YouTube just type there something like Nvidia apex filters.
Check how game looks from some of the people and just copy what they do 😁
  • @matzesingt Yeah I did that, but I guess I expected a bit too much from it. There is a difference but I'm still having the issue ☹️

And I uninstalled it today anyway. The way the game handles latency is just too inconsistent lately. Point blank shots not registering and playing in the past vs opponents so to speak just kills the game. And people just casually walking away or sidestepping bullets like in the matrix is ridiculous. Plus is it just me or is the game feeling extra slow these past few weeks? Running feels slow, healing feels slow, commands feels slow...ugh. I can't.
