I'm not suggesting that all players are constantly fighting. I'm suggesting changing the focus from "walk from loot spawn to loot spawn and pick up dirt 50% of your playtime" to thinking about where the enemy might be and having some objectives to actually be interested in. You know .. engaging survival. Not camping in a looted area where noone will wander around anyways for the next 15 mins if you're lucky with the circle area's
Make it more about the resources you have. Think about if you wanna engage in a super long range fight - Do you got enough ammo supplies for that? Basically there are only the energy gattling guns and the 099 who are hard to sustain ammo for. For the other weaps you are drowning in ammo. Up to a point where you could remove ammo from the game and just have a reload timer and it would not change nothing in the gameplay after the first 5 mins.
If there is no loot in any area at all - now looking for good coverage would be also an option. Then you probably have to reduce the circle time in the first circle iterations and prolong the later ones to force the players closer together but not too close.
All the looting (as is) does is forcing you to spend the first couple mins of every game to find your very basic equipment - there's no value to that. Furthermore If you're unlucky or landed in a crowded area you insta drop out of the game without beeing able to fight back at all. - Not a rewarding expirience.
I do enjoy the battle royale genre and esp in Apex the weapon´and ping systems feel nice - the voice chat sucks atm but hey - that's a different story.
It's just that some games of Apex just feel empty and the looting doesnt add to the experience (after the first 20 games, that is).
There's no reason to believe that the battle royale genre can't be improved by changing stuff. I'm not saying that my thoughts must lead to an improvement, but some ideas might be worth thinking about 🙂. (I probably ought to structure my posts, sry for rambling .. xD )
1.Also it is way too big. Most of the games you are just busy running around to either get in the circle, looting stuff or sprinting half a mile to get where the action is.
You probably never play PUBG, one of the first of this genre. It's way more slower, the map is much bigger, and the players are much much slower. I meant Apex is very forgiving already, the mobility is so much higher than PUBG.
2.Not camping in a looted area where noone will wander around anyways for the next 15 mins if you're lucky with the circle area's
No, nobody does that in this game. This one i can say for sure.
3.Think about if you wanna engage in a super long range fight - Do you got enough ammo supplies for that? Basically there are only the energy gattling guns and the 099 who are hard to sustain ammo for. For the other weaps you are drowning in ammo
im wondering if we play the same game, ammo is the least thing we should worry about, it's ... everywhere.

It's BR, the first min is for getting stuff. It's what people love about this genre. I tried many BR games before, from PUBG, Island of Nyne, Blackout, BF Firestorm. This game's looting is just right compare to others.
That's why BR is not for everyone. You probably should try PUBG to understand the struggle, then you probably will find Apex is not that hard to find item, and does not take that long to loot.
