@Extremejinks So I’ve responded to each idea to either improve them, hype them, or just provide an alternative that I feel would work (while providing criticism of why I think the idea needs improving). (v)=tick woohoo good idea; *=hold on, what if…
(v) Bloodhound: Agreed, or something that might help teammates track opponents, like a team tactical (could be visual and auditory)
*Gibraltar: I was thinking that the shield wall wouldn’t be that useful since he has to be very mobile(and he already has a kind of wall where he’s safe from distant headshots, maybe he can chuck a heavy item at someone to slow the opponent down and we’d hear a cartoony *thunk* sound (a bit like Scout’s baseball from TF2). It would be funny
*Lifeline: Maybe the grenade could be a cluster bomb with syringes in it so that it slowly takes small damage from opponents. The direction of the syringes should be random but with a high enough chance to hit at least one player on either side. I think the effect should be similar to Octanes but beneficial and destructive to teammates/ opponents
*Pathfinder: Not sure how this would work, maybe Pathy’s a bit OP so I’d say something that doesn’t involve mobility but instead something more for the team to benefit from passively. He could also have like a slide so that they can use to go down a slope rather than to take height. The slide could be faster than just sliding down a hill too (used for emergency escape maybe?).
(v) Wraith: I like the second option more, it has that Wraithy-ninja vibe that we so love.
(v) Bangalore: In theme, woohoo! Although I’ve suggested improvements for this legend idea for a stun-themed character on another feed on Legend Feedback (check it out!)
*Caustic: I don’t think this one’s in theme. Maybe since he’s a scientist with lots of poisons available, he can have a throwable that causes a player’s metabolism to slow them down gradually and temporarily (like the arc star and his gas, but not as extreme and lasts longer but isn’t as obvious). It might be useful for people who are able to avoid his gas.
*Mirage: He could have Bloodhound-like pulse that he presses on his wrist that gives his teammates one (or two?) mirage each to confuse the enemy.
*Octane: I like the theme but I don’t think it would work since either it would bug the game, or since the teammates aren’t affected I would make it a weird and slightly unrealistic situation. You may disagree though and that’s ok. Another option could be that his grenade gives opponents hyper speed but inverted buttons so that they are temporarily unable to use their bindings properly. It would also be fun for people to get right if they’re good enough at the game (e.g left vs right, forward vs back, jump vs crouch, tactical vs drop weapon, etc)
*Wattson: I think she needs something not included. EMP might be good but I feel like Crypto already does that. Just an idea but how about a grenade that makes opponents ‘static’ and they produce grey noise so teammates can find them more easily than with footsteps (eg. larger noose radius)
(v) Crypto: Love this idea as it helps differentiate the strengths of Crypto and Bloodhound. Maybe there could be an ‘AI’ implemented where it shows a large arrow to show their velocity so you know how quickly they’re going
I agree that they should carry too, but I think they shouldn’t be openly available. Either they could be available from looting and after a certain amount of rounds they have the opportunity to use it as the ‘game’ coordinators ‘unlock’ them for the surviving players to use in or near the endgame. Maybe a golden or purple backpack can hold it/them, just to emphasize that there’s no point picking up early game, and instead is a motive to implement when trying to rotate to benefit a potential Champion. I understand that this gives way to chance and not skill, but if everything is balanced well then this would work out wonderfully, balancing historically successful and unsuccessful characters. Let me know what you think
