Mirage Feedback - Please Buff

Decoy Dive (Hidden)

So unless you read tooltips, you probably don't know this exist. This is when you can press 'Q' twice to trick players when you're diving, to make it seem like you're going to land near them. This ability does its job perfectly, though would be nice to mention this in the character's description.

Encore (Passive)

When downed, this ability actually does it's job fairly well. Can't say anything bad about it.


Psyche Out (Tactical)

Seems like a cool ability, was for a few seconds. But at the end, the AI just walks and stands there. Everyone knows it's a decoy, especially since the character is clearly Mirage. The decoy needs to do something more for it to be believable, otherwise it's useless. Make him move around, maybe fake shoot, heal, seriously anything.

Vanishing Act (Ultimate)

Everyone knows when it's used since mirage makes an obvious circular team of himself. Since it's so obvious, players just look for the cloak player, which can still be seen. It's even worse that you're unable to uncloak whenever you want, so you're stuck out in the open being somewhat invisible and unable to use your weapons. During this time, you can also take damage. For me, this ultimate has never done it's job. This can be easily fixed by making mirage be actually invisible.

    Yeah I agree the decoy need to do something random once it stop instead of stay still doing nothing

    And also they need to allow us to manually break invisibility AND wraith Q thingy. So annoying

  • I disagree regarding Psyche Out. Using this in tight firefights has worked 9/10 times for me to fool my enemies, if only to make them turn towards the decoy while I come in from the other side. Fight around a tank in Repulsion. Send decoy to one side, move to the other. Also useful to scout passages, around corners and opposite side of smokes as many players will automatically shoot at anything that moves close. Learn to use it properly and its one of the best tactical abilities, in my opinion.

    I agree regarding the ultimate. Being half-cloaked means most people now know what to look for when 5 decoys pop up. And not being able to do anything besides running is quite limiting. You should either be allowed to shoot and heal while half-cloaked, or be fully cloaked. Using it at the wrong time can get you killed more times than save you, and I don't think any other ultimate has this kind of downside.

    Other than that, Mirage is easily my favourite character. Love his quips!

  • With "Psyche out" you have to be clever with how you use it. When you want your decoy to go somewhere make sure you're looking up and not at the floor when you send it out, this makes him not stop at the point you were looking at and lets him continue walking. it would be nice to have the decoy try to climb things to get to places to make it less obvious its a player, but the real way you have to use it is

    Running away from someone

    If you're being chased you can run outside of a building tell your decoy to keep running straight and you take a sharp turn away, this could buy you some seconds of time or completely lose your chaser.

    Baiting the enemy,

    If you know there is an enemy in a room, send in your decoy, 9/10 times they will shoot it and boom you know exactly where they are. One thing i like to do is send in my decoy and as they are running in i slide in behind them ready to shoot where i think they are. if they have a shotgun they've wasted their first shot on your decoy giving you time to deal damage.

    Another one could be sending it out and watching as they peak to shoot it when youre sniping.

    Checking to see if areas are clear,

    Want to know if there are people behind those rocks? send your decoy close by to them, or make it run past, make it stand on the edge of ledges to see if it takes any shots.

    The only problems i have with mirage is his Encore ability, since its an ability to use when hes down and only when hes down. Gibraltar has a shield, wraith knows when shes being aimed at, bloodhound can track people, lifeline can pick people up, caustic can see through his smoke, pathfinder can see where the next zone is, and bangalore can run faster when shes shot at. Mirages passive is something you dont want to happen because you dont want to go down. if you win a game with out going down you have no use for it. dont get me wrong its nice to sometimes have it but its so obvious to see when hes down and not hard to find at all.

  • I agree  with you.

    But I suggest also to that the decoy should get like 60 health to fake hit marks and holding the last item he had in his hands.

    About the ultimate:

    - Mirage should be way less visible.

    - The most important thing about his ult is, that you need to be able to cancel it! Like this is really really important!

    About the surrounding decoys which spawns:

    - They should also move / crouch / rush / shoot to be a real bamboozle and not obvious dolls.

    - Or even replaced with the decoys of your squad
