Mirage is less than useless in high ranks

I'm giving up on this legend.

By far one of the most interesting legends, in terms of playstyle and characteristics, is cast to the side and is basically useless in ranked games.

While he has been improved, the mark just hasn't been met. He is good, but he's no where near the meta.

Mirage needs some more quality of life updates to make him be amongst the rest in ranked.

For starters: 

His decoys need to be transparent and the blue trail needs to be removed

(I've suggested this years ago and nothing has been done)

Lets be real - There is already enough clutter when Mirage uses his ultimate. if you use his ultimate in a room of enemies you can lose the enemies in your sea of decoys. not only that but your team mates cannot see through them either. The enemies probably have the clearest vision when it comes to his ultimate because they cant see the blue trail. please remove it!

My team mates have scolded me saying they cant see the enemies because my decoys are in the way so many times. instead of distracting enemies, im distracting team mates. its bad character design. its useless. 

His reviving passive needs to be quieter

There is no point in being invisible if so many people in range can hear you. Everyone in high ranks can hear EVERYTHING it doesn't take much for them to sound them out, realise he's invisible and shoot in their direction until you hear hitmakers. Lifeline is able to Res and keep fighting, Gibby can Res quicker in his bubble. Invisibility doesn't count if you can be heard because then people with ears know exactly where you are. also with legends like Seer, bloodhound and a digital threat you are just not invisible anyways. 

If your team mate is downed at range and you start to pick them up straight away, legends like ashe, pathfinder and octane are already on you (With ears) they know exactly where you are and trying to revive.

I remember as Cartoonhow called Xiaolin Showdown. Where one character is studying, and he hears breathing next to him and punches the air to hit one of his friends under an invisibility cloak. He asks "how did you know I was there?" To which he replies "It's the shroud of Shadows not the shroud of silence, you breath with your mouth I can hear you!" Which is exactly how it goes for mirage and his passive. 

I'm not saying it should be dead silent but it should have a reduced audio range and can even have different voice lines of mirage whispering which can be nice. 

His markers on enemies that get bamboozled get in the way

That white marker that pops up every time your decoy gets shot gets in the way of hip firing an enemy that you are already looking at.

With all these legends that reveal positions for 2-6 seconds why hasn't this been given to mirage? Seer, Bloodhound, Fuse, Mad Maggie, heck even Valkyrie can highlight enemies when she's flying. And now Vantage, How and why has this not been given to mirage to punish people for shooting his decoys. Its a no brainer and not that huge of a buff. Maybe this should only be for mirage, not his team mates but could be useful in ranked at higher levels.

He doesn't need to say "YOU JUST GOT BAMBOOZLED" after every decoy gets shot

Its annoying ☹️

    Yeah he really needs more than quality of life changes but I guess baby steps is the way to go, he's strong but his weaknesses outweigh the strengths.

    He brings no utility, no damage, no movement, no sheidling/healing, barely has a recon ability. For a legend that has such a nice concept he is completely useless.

    He is a jack of no trades, master of none. He is just another gun. If you play mirage you can play literally any other legend better. 

    His ultimate is just clutter for you and your team and is just so heavily countered by every other legend.

    And now with the removal of self revive he has almost nothing left. You might have been able to get away with your passive and self res but now what's the point. It serves no purpose like it used to.

    @PholanxTTV at first, mirage ultimate must be more transparent for team and we need to be full invisible or get far less damage when we activate.
    Additional will be much better when decoys will run and do different activities like, healing, shooting, hide, just do something.

    How about to teleport to decoy? Finally mirage can have some mobility...

    ~Good idea, if not specifically this, it would be a good idea for some abilities to have less effect on teammates, not just mirages decoys. other abilities would benefit from this mentality as well.

    ~Disagree, there needs to be counter play to mirage being invisible while rezzing, and audio cues are how you do that. you shouldnt just get to revive for free. you give him this and players will start saying things like "why are his holo-thingies visible while im reviving, that shouldnt be a thing." its a slippery slope.

    ~so you want to just remove counterplay from his ultimate? again, bad idea, some of these mechanics exist for a reason. as for the teleport thing, while it seems like a good idea at first i think it will change his identity too much. you're not supposed to shoot his decoys, because then you give away your position. if there was a possibility for him to teleport to a decoy, there would be an incentive to shoot them, which, again, youre not supposed to do. i think a better idea would be to give him a psuedo scan kind of ability. if you shoot a decoy, not only will the decoy UI show where you are, you will be revealed specifically to mirage for a second or two. also, moving the UIelement that shows the direction of a player shooting a decoy would be a good idea. that way it wont block his crosshair. if thats an actual issue, it definitely could use a change, and shouldnt be much more than editing a line or two of code. or maybe im underestimating game development and you would need a blood sacrifice to change something that minor. that would explain the long update cycle and lack of hotfixes.

    - Its not exactly ressing for free, what's the point in him going invisible if you can just hear him. it gives 0 advantage. When legends like bloodhound and seer exist to literally know your exact location its useless, anyone with a headset and volume can hear it, spray in the general direction and follow the hitmarker sound. 

    Gibby resses for free in his bubble at a faster rate, life line gets to res automatically. the only thing mirage could POSSIBLY do is res in the middle of the open if somehow the enemy team looked away and were too far to push. but then Gibby can do the same thing with his bubble and is safer and allows them to heal up in safety. Mirages passive is not good whatsoever. he might as well just not be invisible if hes that loud.

    yeah dont listen to the guy that says teleport to decoys we dont want that its overpowered and not what he should be.

    The Scan for his decoys also useless. the only times its good, if you get shot at from far away and cant hear the gunshot. otherwise when you are in a gunfight with someone and you hear gunshots you know where the enemy is already, that little popup does nothing at all.

    heck there has been bugs in the game for him that still havnt been addressed. still his decoys shoot off into the abyss at lightning speeds when dropping, his decoys fall over on small rocks, cones, ledges and floor panels and his cooldown doesnt get refunded at all unlike Maggie's. 

    Respawns reasons for not giving mirage any changes is that "He still gets wins" yeah im sure he does when all you need to play the character is good aim, but a gibby with good aim can probably win even more, A bangalore with good aim alone can win more. Mirage is just an extra gun, a player with good aim can play any other legend better.

    Mirage has no useful skills to set him aside from the rest. they hold him back in some way shape or form.

    @PholanxTTV I really think enemies that shoot a boozle should be highlighted the same way as people running in Seer ult. Or maybe even Seer Q.
