Need Practice Mode for new players.

I know you've heard this a million times already, but as a new player I think it's important.

Since it is a unique BR game, I think it's important to be able to practice with each legend before joining a match.

I've played one match so far. The reason why I haven't played more was because I felt so uninformed as a player because I didn't understand the legend I was playing, I became more of a hindrance to my team than a benefit. With a practice mode, I can at least improve my skills before diving in. I don't expect to be bad * after a few matches, but with a practice mode I will most likely be better equipped to help my team.

In my first, and only, match, my squad neither communicated with me or helped me when I was downed. That sucks. But, I don't blame them. Although I do think they should have used communication. I got the feeling they were probably talking in Discord, and they saw me as some useless random.

Please, implement a practice mode. I know the game is Free to Play, but I could really use help in understanding how to play with each legend.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Cheers,

Todd

  • I agree, until recently I only played lifeline, because I did know nothing about the other legends and would feel uncomfortable to test their abilities out in a real match.

I tried Pathfinder, but my grapple would always detach itself. I need to practice.

I tried Wraith and did not know how to place portals, thought you place them, but you have "to run" them.

Or I play Mirage. I have an ult, what does it do? Do they expect me to watch videos for all heroes? Should I learn the abilities in a firefight?

I want to practice them alone on a test range.

  • A mode with your squad vs AI would be nice. There are many things I'd like to test and would rather not during real game play. I'm sure my teammates would appreciate this also.

Yea, videos can only take you so far. You still have to have personal experience with each legend to really understand them. Even if they just let us jump in the map as a legend and run around by ourselves, trying out different abilities with our controller, that would go a long way to helping us improve our skills for each legend. Just put a few AI bots in a practice mode. I'm surprised they didn't think about this before, considering how new the player characteristics are compared to other BR games.
  • Yea i agree this idea is great. I really need practise with AI bots. My aim is soooo bad. And i just cant stop dying and DYING like noob.

  • Yes this game ABSOLUTELY needs a better training ground where we can play different legends and try out their abilities. Otherwise I join a game and just get my teammates killed and nobody is happy. It's just a stupid experience all round..

  • Exactly, mindrage. That's how I felt after my first match. I couldn't get decent gear. I was useless to my team. So, it's no surprise they left me for dead when I went down. But, I've watched other people play it on Twitch, and it looks fun. I just need to practice.
