I'd really love a simple option in the gameplay settings that disables auto switch for picking up weapons and ammo depletion.
It's gotten me killed a few times when I pick up a new weapon or auto swap weapons when running out of ammo. I prefer to manually swap my guns so I can keep something out to fight if someone pushes me unexpectedly.
A small thing to add but, it would allow players to be that much more in control of their fights.
sometimes in the middle of combat i pick a weapon and then the 2nd weapon to avoid the enemy get it and that is the problem.
i start fighting right there and the change to 2nd weapon, seconds loss in animation given free kill to my enemy so i suggest no auto-change 2nd weapon after pick up if you have a weapon using.

I been in situations where I run out of ammo and it auto swaps to my second gun. Now, the issue with this is that I manually switch my weapon when I run out. When I do this, I end up switching back to the gun with zero ammo and then I die.
I want a option to disables this from happening as I rather manually switch my weapon if something like this happens.
In my case, I ran out of light ammo because it was early game match and I dropped and fought 6 people. On my 4th knock down is where I ran out of light ammo and it switched to my devotion which indeed had energy ammo left. However, when it happened when I was fighting the 5th guy and I ended up switching back to the zero ammo weapon. I get eliminated due to this. I would have won with my devotion because I was basically full health and the enemy have zero cover to escape from a devotion. However, I wasn't able to shoot him due to the auto switch and my mind mentally switching to the devotion but did the opposite.
Community Admin@Leo_the_Lion25 That's a fair request, I personally always want as many toggles and options as possible. I actually got into a similar situation not too long ago, but my squadmate swooped in and saved me. 🙂

Yeah I hate Auto swap...
It is rage inducing..
I was killed the other day because of it.
I was running an r99 and ran out of light ammo and it auto swapped to my hemlock while I was pressing triangle to manually swap.
So it swapped back to my empty r99.
Then I went to swap back to my Hemlock.
All while I was engaged with an Octane in Artillery.
The Octane blew me away with an Eva8....
I would have won that fight.
Rage Inducing.
Auto Swap should be optional.

I hate that the game auto swaps for me once i run out of ammo.
I want to have an option to turn it off.
I AM A GOOD PLAYER AND IM AWARE OF WHEN MY ROUNDS ARE SPENT AND I NEED TO SWITCH.
Sooo, you can see why it can be very annoying when im on a 1 v 3 and about to get a win ... but oh wait... the game auto switches as i press to switch guns (so the game swapped back to the gun whose clip was depleted)... sooo now im dancing in front of people switching guns and that split second window of opportunity i had to win with my upper hand was just stolen from me by a bad game mechanic.
Holy cow, I was wondering why this happens! I could not understand it and died a few times to this.
