Anyhow, I do think its a stupid game mechanics regardless if its "pros" or "causals" who abuse it. Its way to easy and quick to clone a purple or golden armor to all the teammates, especially if you find a golden or purple armor among the ground loot early game, right off the drop at an uncontested area near the edge of the map where you can jump off and insta-suicide. If you are just quick enough to wear it, jump of the cliff and let the 2nd player of the team repeat the procedure, then nearby enemy teams wont be finished looting their area when the 3rd player respawns his team --> low risk of getting third partied. So even if I like this feature in principle, I think they must come up with a fail safe for precisely this kind of behavior, regardless if its pros, semi-pros or causal players who do it.
I think a compromise to this feature would be that you only get to "save" your EVO-dmg dealt when you get respawned. So if you get lucky and land on a purple armor and dies after having done 200 dmg, you will be respawned with a blue armor. If you get a blue armor and dies with 450 dmg dealt, you will respawn with a blue armor but with only 50 dmg left to purple etc etc... I think this would make so much more sense since it awards good players who actually work towards their red armor and not just lucky who opens the right bin.
