The past 2 seasons I played less than 100 games. And nearly every single game, the randoms rage quit. So I would play ranked so the randoms can’t rage quit, but then every game would be the absolute worst, getting killed off 20 kill badge preds every game. Which is why I didn’t play many games the past 2 seasons. As always I decided to come back at the start of this season and I was absolutely loving Straight Shot. There was rarely any rage quitting. I fell back in love with Apex again. However, now that Straight Shot is unavailable, I’ve had to go back to regular trios. And, nearly every single game my random team mates land got, die, rage quit. This has been going on for 5 years now, and needs to be fixed.Solution: Place rage quitters in teams with other rage quitters.Alternatively, make rage quitters play solo for x multiplied by 10 minutes. x being the amount of times they rage quit. So if you rage quit once, you have to play solo for 10 minutes. If you rage quit 10 times, you have to play solo for 100 minutes.Another solution could be, you get 10 deaths for rage quitting, which would affect their KD.

@PJBurrows1991 I hope I never get you as a teammate. Until the developers create a better player experience, you can't expect players to stick around. Low EA and Apex Legends developer standards strike again

@PJBurrows1991 As a rage quitter myself (dying in milliseconds repeatedly tends to do that), how about this? Implement matchmaking and anti cheat code that actually works. WTAF, Respawn?

@PJBurrows1991 Sorry, but it would literally kill the game mode of pubs if you are not being allowed to quit if you get into a 3v3 situation, your random #1 dies after dealin 10 dmg but you single handedly knock two of them and get knocked by the third, just to find out that your random #2, a Crypto, is sitting behind some crates with 0 dmg dealt, flying around with his drone and then says "dOnT woRRy, I gEt yOuR bAnnER!" =)I wouldnt mind a short banner timer, like 30 seconds or so just to prevent people to just quit even before the fight is done, but you just cant force people to play an unserious game mode against their will and expect it to lead to a healthy situation for anyone, especially when the solution is obvious: play with premades.

And it's impossible to find friends to play with because they haven't added a squad finder. Adding a squad finder has been suggested many times, but it's never been added. And I can't make new friends in game, because they rarely have mics, or if they do, they dont speak english, or they rage quit within the first minute.

@reconzero I started this season on the Friday after it came out, so I’m guessing those who didn’t like Straight Shot had stopped playing by then (you for example). I think the reason people didn’t rage quit as much in SS was because you didn’t need to grab their banners, so it was much easier to respawn. In the 9 days I played SS, I got about 70 wins, due to team mates not rage quitting. Since then, I’ve probably had about 5 wins (not that I’ve played much because I’m sick of getting left solo in games).

I’m talking about rage quitters. They quit because they die, and then quickly join a new game. If they are dead, they can’t walk out in to the storm, and yes they could go AFK, but when they get respawned back in they will just die again. They won’t get into another game any quicker.

Yes there is other reasons players rage quit, but this is the biggest issue. They jump hot, they die within a minute, they quit to join another game, leaving your team at a disadvantage. Obviously, this was an issue which is why they brought a penalty into Ranked. I think the penalties I suggested are fair penalties, and would make the game more enjoyable while playing with randoms.

@Tspincan you give me an example why you wouldn't want me as a team mate? Because, I want me team mates to stick around and have fun, and get the win?
It's nearly every game, randoms drop hot, die, quit. If they knew they had to stick around, perhaps they wouldn't drop hot every game. If they want to drop hot for the quick combat, quick death, they can go play team death match. Also if players don't want to stick around, they could always go "no fill".

@HappyHourSumwur I'm not going to lie. I rage a lot as well. Mainly because randoms drop hot, I die within milliseconds, and then I have to wait around for the respawn. It's much easier to just join another game. However, adding a penalty would stop rage quitting, for my self including. If team mates want to land hot, I will gladly land somewhere a bit safe, and then grab their banners. If they don't want to wait around, that is their fault for dropping hot and dying, so perhaps this would also stop 10 teams landing Frag every game.
Matching making defo does need to be better.

Yeah, I agree that solutions like that are preferable, i.e solution that doesnt force anyone to anything. Another solution that would work on the same principle would be a "allow early leaving" checkbox in the lobby, and base the matchmaking on that. I wonder though how that would affect queue times. I have ofc no insight of the leaving statistics but I believe that the queue time for "non rage quitters" in your solution or "non allow early leavings" in my solution, would both have a very long queue time. The fact that you get into the same team as so many rage quitters kinda shows that the vast majority of players who play casual mode dont want to tryhard and play to win at all costs. Also, I suspect that all high elo players would get into the same rage quitting but stomping teams whereas all low elo players would end up together in the no-leaving teams hrmm..
I would suggest to find open discord channels. From there, you can always find players to team and if you are good teammate and pleasant to play with, you will soon find alot of people you can play with on a more regular basis.

I'm not answering for @Tspin here, but I read this and thought it was worth addressing.

Of course, we all want our teammates to 1. Stick Around. 2. Have Fun. and 3. Get The Win. But you make it sound as if any one of these things leads oh so naturally to the other two, when in reality they can very often be mutually exclusive. Personally I spend the entirety of every single match making some very complex calculations about the probability of various different outcomes, and when the numbers don't add up then I usually don't stay. This is pretty much the opposite of "drop hot, die quickly, quit match," but you might well find the behavior just as odious.

My point here is that different people bring very different mindsets to the game, to each individual match, and emphatically NO, not everyone shares the same outlook or match goals. Kids who drop hot and die early may have ADHD, or they may be looking for gunplay experience and nothing else, or they may be looking for some good YouTube reels. Could be anything, none of us will ever know for sure. Call them bad people if you need to, but I find the developer just as culpable, maybe even more, for a lot of different reasons.

And still not convinced penalties (or additional strains on the matchmaking algorithm) are a viable answer.
