Re: 17 seasons but still the same old broken matchmaking

@Papacastoro My acquaintances were platinum and gold last season, but they all fell to rookie, bronze 4, and bronze 3.

This matching system is somewhat more broken than the previous system.
I also think it would have been better if they had carried over the ranks of all seasons and introduced a ladder point system.
I don't want to play ranked games anymore because I was a silver rank and would be killed before I could shoot a bullet in the current ranked games.

However, the mixtape mode and skill matching system are in a state of disrepair, so I can't do anything about it.

    The entire reason why Respawn reworked the rank system was because they saw there were no correlation between a players actual skill and their rank below "high elo". And I dont think Platinum and gold counts as high elo in the old system. So it make sense that your two friends were placed in Bronze and rookie.  The placement matches arent supposed to place you at your peak rank. Like any other games, you have to work to reach your peak rank and prove that you deserve it. Its just like Arenas. I won 9/10 matches and was placed in silver. Same as in League of legends. I won like 7/10 placement matches and was placed in bronze. 


    I predicted that many "hardstuck golds and hardstuck platinums" would complain about the new system because they now werent able to reach their old peak ranks. But once again; the reason why we have a new system is because the old one let anyone get to gold/plat regardless of skill.  So if you were a previous "hardstuck platinum" with a ranked KD of 0.5, then you have to face the truth and realize that your new peak rank perhaps is silver/gold. In the end, this is a good thing for the game. Its silly to have a ranked system where you just could hide your way to Platinum

    Beginners and poor players will then have no choice but to become everyone's kill points until the end of this season.
    Beginner hunting will continue to be tougher than ever this season.
    Intermediate and Advanced players should have been promoted to peak rank as soon as possible with certified ranks at the start of the season for victims of beginner hunts.

    Hopefully the matchmaking gets better further in to the season since every player literally got reset to Rookie-silver. I personally will wait just a couple of days before I start to play ranked. But who knows; perhaps they broke the ranked mode because it seems stupid to get so much LP for just surviving with 0 kills. Imagine a golden armor and just fill your inventory with syringes and camp outside the circle hrmm.

    I just hope that people are smart and honest enough to actually take a real good look at themselves as Apex players and objectively realise where they SHOULD belong rank wise. I mean, if you struggled to get over 1 KD in gold lobbies in the old system but manage to stick around in gold just by hiding, then perhaps you simply are more of silver player and its nothing wrong with that. =)

    @Balladalidila This new system lets the garbage players rise up. This is sooooo bad. I don’t know how people don’t notice this. You can eat to masters now if you play enough games. They made skill LESS RELEVANT than any other season before this. If you want skill then you have to make kills > placement. Because placement can be done easy while the above mentioned twitter from his Watson can be done. Just rat and let the wild animals ply hot spots as you chill. Heck only top 50% every game for 1k games gives you 20k points . And that is a 10th not to mention if you get a 2nd or 3rd which old plat rank would only give you like +5.

    So what to do? Make lp entrance more … or make the positive points at a top 5 or so without having to do anything (0 k/a/p) top 10 is waaaaaaay too lenient for a br type game. If it is lgs type scoring sure because they have their poi’s planned and their maps coordinated. With just random people this system is built for rats and non skilled to get to masters with 0 effort.
