Re: Melee is OP/broken

When you melee someone, they fly away about 6-8 feet. If someone can land 4 hits on you before you can take them down with a pistol, then you're simply missing.

Even more so, you have the capability to melee as well. You could have finished him off with a punch, if you put 6 bullets in to him. Even better yet, punch the guy away from you then backpedal a little while you line up your shots. Problem solved, just gotta use a little common sense and be smarter than the other guy 😉

  • I'm fully aware that I also have the capability to melee, and I'm not talking about decision-making. The fact is that to successfully melee someone you just have to look in their general direction, aiming a weapon is much harder. Furthermore, a punch does 30 damage and pistol shot does 12... that just isn't realistic. I'm aware that there are counters and it's not an impossible fight, but I do believe it is unbalanced.

As stated above, then you melee someone, they get PUSHED BACK about 6-8 feet.

You just need to be smarter than the person who's desperate and running at you with fists.

    Stop and think.

in COD it takes two melee kills to kill someone, but many more bullets. You're insane if you think other games aren't balanced this way.

Would you rather 1 hit kill melee's like in CoD: MW?

"That isn't realistic" , this whole game isn't realistic. Just work on your aim
  • @drumprince91 LOLZ when I read the title I started laughing. At your first line I laughed harder. At the 'nerf melees' I almost choked and thought 'this needs to be a meme' XD

I'm assuming you got pwned while you had the pistol? Either way, you are a legend for suggesting they should nerf melee...

Looki looki a real 4chan wannabe, why don't you pack your shoot and gtfo. He got a point even if it is about skill/ decision making. Keep it to yourself, redditcancer.

  • Melee is fine. Want to know what you should have done? Melee him as well and while he's knocked back from the punch, shoot him a couple of times with your pistol as you close the gap to melee him again. Rinse and repeat. You would have killed him way faster than he could have dropped you with his melee only. You got 100% outplayed. Learn from it and better yourself instead of complaining about it on the forums.

    Melee feels great in Apex.

The knockback really works well to avoid the idiotic PUBG style point-blank range body blocking, jumping, camera direction punching mess.

  • The push back distance is irrelevant when after a melee you can immediately start sprinting to melee again and the magnet lock distance for melee is about 4 feet.  The person getting hit has no real reaction time when the second they get knocked back they're already in melee range again. And since sprint speeds are the same across all characters you don't even have the advantage if you try to turn around and shoot.

The damage is fine, but they need to nerf the magnet lock range. Melee isn't actually melee if you can sprint slide and lock onto a person from shooting distance and land a hit like it's the Halo 2 energy sword.
