Re: Option to avoid matching with specific players

Well if it's just so they don't get matched onto your team, it probably would not be too problematic to implement.

The largest factor to keep in mind is that this could be detrimental to servers and ranks with a lower playercount.

In a low populated area, it could become noticeable quite easily after a few avoids.

Assuming a pool of around 5k players, team sizes of 3 and 60 players max in a lobby, everyone avoiding 5 players. (Assuming nobody avoids the same player)

Without avoids: 34220 possible 3-player team combinations.
With avoids: 24804 possible 3-player team combinations.

Thus decreasing combinations by around 27.5%

And that's without keeping matchmaking in mind based on skill levels and whatnot.

Considering that players usually get avoided for good reasons, there will likely be more overlap, and not everyone will be avoiding the same amount of players.

Though it can get out of hand fast if you don't limit the amount of avoid slots available.

In Overwatch there were cases where a streamer was being avoided on purpose, not because they were inherently playing bad or being toxic, but because they wanted to troll him.

Since he was in a high rank, this skyrocketed his queue times, which wasn't really that fun for him.

Now, I'm not saying I'm against implementing an avoiding system, I'm sure players can benefit from it.
Though from what I understand, Respawn wants to keep queue times as low as possible, so personally I wouldn't think that they'd pick up a task like this, unless absolutely necessary.

To be fair, you can mute players in-game so you won't see their toxicity, doesn't stop them from griefing of course, but can help at least a bit.
