Shes in a weird spot right now.

If you get surprised, you have no opportunity to really setup as walls are destroyed immediately and sheila doesn't really help in an ambush.

If you fully setup, you can do some crazy powerful damage and hold down a location incredibly powerfully, wiping the floor with competition as long as you don't get naded or bombarded by an ult into next week.

The only change I can immediately think of, and I am unsure if this would even be a good change, is to have her tactical come in two halves.

1) The wall 2) The amp

Basically if the wall is shot while its setting up, its destroyed. After wall finishes its setup tho, its got its full 400 health. But then the amped shield part can still be shot at while its setting its own part to prevent that damage boost and area control. Essentially, if the enemy immediately caps ur wall its down, but if they don't cap the wall part before its done, at LEAST you have cover. 

Her ultimate is powerful, but the weird button setup is so backwards. Focus winds up the gun and scope zoom is for actual aiming? And why the hell is L3 (or crouch button) a cancel button? It can be incredibly frustrating to get off your gun accidentally because of wonky button config on turret. Also that 150 degree angle and limited up and down angle is so ouch when you don't have a straight path or high ground / place turret on wrong side of a roof.

Also while her passive is amazing, its an auto focus on LMG's. Honestly I'd like it if it was any "machine gun" weaponry (to include smg's), seeing as this legit only gives you 3 weapons of choice to use her passive, and if you're not using it, you miss out.

Otherwise: Strong setup potential. Poor ambush potential. Ruthless final ring potential if other party can just immediately destroy any of your defenses. Confusing instruction manuals for controls.

    I think Rampart is NOT OP. Here's why:

    1. Her shields are easily destroyed

    2. She takes forever to setup

    3. Her minigun is everything but accurate

    4. Her passive is pointless unless you are using an LMG

    Here are my thoughts on changes. I like a lot of what @Monhulio suggests, with a few of my own.

    Improvements:

    1. Her shields:

        - I like the idea of "2" setups. Her base should be really fast, then the amp should be slower

        - Make her amp part a 2 way thing. Shooting out amps the bullets, shooting in reduces damage by like 70 percent. But also improve the health of the shield, keeps it from getting damaged         too soon.

        - Only allow 3 shields deployed. Period. Kind of like how caustic only can have 6 traps set. However, this would be needed if the above points are added, that way its not "too camper like"

        - I would like her to have shields that support quick setup and leave not setup and camp

    2. Her minigun is pointless at range. What I would like to see is the zoom slow down the rate of fire, but increase the accuracy to like 100%. I was shooting zoomed in and almost all my bullets were outside of that circle - why even have the circle?

    3. Make her fast reload work for all the weapons

    Taking less damage from other direction of amp is bad idea because it just encourages people to all aim for you all at once and still hit you for damage. Then suddenly when shield breaks your already super weak.

    The number of shields is actually fine, because unless they get there early to setup, you rarely see more than 3 or the other amped ones are already broken from you firing at them. Having 5 lets you fully surround yourself and team technically speaking, to cover multiple angles. Theres no benefit for placing them in front of each other as amped cover shots break when stacked at present unless its just stacking walls after the previous shield got broken.

    Her minigun really is like a giant threat that gets more acccurate the longer you fire. It's not a sniper, its a wheel of death that tells enemies not to leave cover or approach lest they get shredded. As long as the minigun is on higher ground than enemies with low to no cover they are literally sitting ducks.

    Not sure i want her faster reload to work for all weapons. That invites no reload time RE-45 plays and fast sniping reloads that could get dicey.

    At present, 3 wins with her so far, 104 kills last i checked. Getting used to LMG recoil and firing accuracy is super rough.
  • @Monhulio I think taking less damage would keep the balance of "camping". Yes you can take more damage overall, but the damage is greatly reduced, so the enemy would be keeping themselves exposed to get slaughtered (hopefully) by the person behind the shield.

    The number of shields would be needed if they greatly increase the speed for which you can throw down your shields. That is all. Currently yes its fine, but I still can't even get one shield down during a fire fight.

    I have yet to kill anyone with the minigun. I hate unaccurate guns. I haven't fired long enough to see the accuracy increase. Which, on that note, the mag should be limited so it doesn't become OP, which is also why I would love to see it become more accurate with a slower fire rate. I just went into firing range and played with it some more and it does get accurate the longer you shoot. My problem was I was trying to hit someone in a window and I have a habit of not shooting unless I can see them, so they kept popping out and I would shoot, only to have my bullets go everywhere. I guess this helps keep it from being OP too.

    As far as faster reloads on all weapons - clearly some weapons will have different speed percentages. However, RE-45 would actually become useful lol

    So since she came out, I main her. I agree she is not OP, rather people have just gotten too used to not meeting hard resistance. 

    Anyways, I think most of how she works currently is 100% how it needs to be. Her passive and tactical are fine as they are. There are plenty of LMGs around, and even if you don’t grab one, she has Shiela. Which given the ammo count using Rampart vs another character, I believe Shiela is counted as an LMG. 

    Next, her amp shields are fine. They take time to set up, block damage, and give a small boost to damage. Considering you have to move into position, get them placed, stay behind them, I think they are fine. Especially if you set up while your team is looting. You don’t get those supplies but you have a superb defensive point. 5 shields are perfectly fine because you only get 3 at once, then it’s a long time to get another one, like 20 some seconds. This means to get a full defense you have to prioritize getting into that position quickly. Which again means you won’t be looting. 

    Her turret is where I think an adjustment could be made. Since she is a “modder”. Currently she can place up to 3 turrets. I suggest keeping that function as something you can do. In addition, be able to use additional ultimate charges to upgrade your already existing turret. Allow 2 upgrades. Each time you upgrade you have a choice to make.

    (Upgrade 1) Either a longer mag, or a digital threat sight.

    (Upgrade 2) Either decreased fire-rate and more accurate shots, or ricocheting bullets. (One bounce)

    Still keep a max of 3 turrets.

    My reason for this is if you have teammates die, you likely won’t need additional turrets, so making the one you have stinger is ideal. Keep in mind they are still stationary so if someone has a max upgraded turret they sacrificed a lot of loot to do so. Either by taking the time and prep to set it up rather than looting, or holding a whole inventory of Ultimate Accelerants.
