Re: Ranked mode needs to lose its baby diapers and grow up

@BabbediboopiThis sounds like an incredibly good idea. I stopped playing rank at Gold Tier 1 for two reasons. I started spending more time on other games, and I finally realized that it was Diamond that gave you the dive trail, not Platinum.

I could probably progress to Diamond if really tried to, but if the randoms in Platinum are anything like the ones in Gold, then it’s unlikely that I’d be willing to put in the time and effort required. What you have just described means that Platinum players aren’t any different than Gold because, and I agree, almost anyone can make it to Platinum. I guess I hadn’t really given that any thought yet.

So, yours is a great idea, I think. Also, if everyone is in constant flux and no one is safe within a tier, then might it also be good idea to lower, slightly, the amount of RP required to progress between ranks? This would promote more movement, both up and down, with the system.

Oh, and rapid advancement for mega-skilled players sounds like a great idea also.

Yeah, exactly how an "optimal" RP gain/loss balance should be designed is ofc another problem that needs to be tackled but perhaps is lowering the total amounts of RP each division is a good idea. I also think they should enable Bronze as a real division, because now its actually totally meaningless apart from being a "tutorial" for new players (no RP cost but only possible RP gain). Why not let the real bad players have their own tier for themselves?.

The annoying thing about ranked, for me, is the wait time, and having to deal with teammates who somehow made it to gold. Like, how are they that bad? I even joined a friend who was plat, our third was a noob.

    "But how? They're in gold"

    WELLLLLLLLLLLLLL

    - They loot hog

    - They push stuff they REALLY shouldn't and die, and leave

    - They don't listen // or try to boss you around

    - They can't... for the life of them... A I M

    - They don't help in battles that requires their help to have a better chance of winning

    - They normally run off into the sunset, only to come back to steal your loot or to die off

    - In most situations, they rather loot while you're getting shot at
