- the error in this statement is that the penalty for bad plays is weighed equally across the whole team. This allows players to take risks in ranked that they shouldn't take because the cost of doing so is spread across their team. For pre-made teams, that actually makes sense. But for solo queue teams you end up socializing the point system, reducing the risk of bad plays for players that don't prioritize team play. This makes it very difficult statistically for a solo queue player to properly compete in ranked.
But sure. I'll take the 800 point hit if it helps the overall community fix the game. Given how frequently this happens to me I'm willing to bet I'd end up further ahead anyhow.
