Red Evo Shield is too common and too powerful

Just wanting to throw my opinion out there and really hope I dont come off as complaining. I think the Red Evo is too strong and too common (easy to get). When you get down to end game (especially in higher level play) most people tend to take red evo shields. The fights sometimes become very drawn out. In lower level play, I've noticed people are very afraid to take on a team with red evo shields. The disparity for a team that cant find loot or enemies to fight to a team that has reached red evo status is way to massive...

Another reason in my opinion is that almost no one takes the gold shield over the red anymore. Why is gold shield so much harder to come by as opposed to a red evo shield, and yet most players stick with the gold? All of the gold items have the armor properties as their highest tier counterparts with a bonus affect. This makes the gold shield sometimes seem inferior to the red evo.

I think the red evo shield should be brought to 4 bars, this would also make the gold shield considered legendary item, as its color suggests.
What do you guys think?

@keenthedream At 500 damage required to evolves it, I would say it is fine at where it was. The real problem is that crafting reduce the threshold a lot. In some cases, it isn't difficult to evolves it to red especially if you already have it at purple.

If the daily/weekly craft isn't exactly the gear or weapon you need, getting a lot of crafting material to upgrade it isn't so hard. I would say the replicator would need to adjust the amount of crafting material needed to upgrade evo shield. The higher level evo should consume more material to upgrade it.

  • I agree with you that it wold suck if it discourages future updates. But that's why they need to make GOOD changes and ones that make sense. I'm not saying for respawn to solely remove the red evo, but adjust it accordingly. Of course they're constantly going to be updating the game and therefore making changes as you say

@Sir_Namedwell or would be like prior seasons. White 2, blue 3, purple 4. Not that complicated, no?

@LordloshBanglol better than someone? If that's the only logic you can use, clearly you don't think things through. Example: you and someone an anemey drop at the same time both get level one shields. You get a Mozambique and the enemy gets a volt. They kill you and do more damage than you and also level up. How do you both do the same DPs? You're saying you take 140 and they take 140? What? It's called different DPS in different guns obviously. Pls say something useful instead of "they're better then you" you just sound dim at that point

Then you will be dead, and you don`t have anything to complain in further gameplay .... The enemy kills you, he get an advantage and level his evo shield.

People who engage more will level their EVO faster, unless they die and get respawned, and not get their box. Then they deserve to start all over again, cause they were dead.

    Simple as that.

My problem with EVO and the armor system is, that it takes the risk factor, and the high risk > high reward, which we have pre-season 6.

There was also the choice to take an EVO, and to choose from an EVO and the different armors.

There was a very few Red EVO by the end game, because not much people were taking the risk.

Also you swap armor, so it`s not that easy to level up that EVO to red.

It was a choice, that sometimes will punish you, but if you been able to going to full red, you will get slight advantage ....

    It is that simple.

I think the old armor system was better. Yeah there was RNG factor, but there is RNG factor now as well. Just like before i can drop on white armor or no armor, and my enemy to get a blue/purple ....

Its the RNG and you have to accept it. Sometimes you will get lucky, sometimes not.

I will never mind a higher TTK in any game. I just loved it, and its way better and always reward skills.

Thank you for accepting that there is an RNG factor, but as for what you quoted me on, I was talking about what you had brought up as "skill vs rng" not exactly what I was using for the Red Evo shield argument.

One thing I dont believe  is that TTK has any correlation with skill. It's just faster at someone going down, as someone with skill will land their shots as opposed to someone missing.. the one landing shots will be the victor anyways. Maybe it could be affected by reaction time or getting the drop on the enemy first but. people landing there shots and shooting first is a whole different argument altogether

well, they can just increase the spawn rate of gold armor as well. At the start of the game, finding a large amount of shield cell to constantly recover isn't an easy task especially at hot spot.

The additional recovery from gold armor is a big help under such a circumstances. Player can choose to use gold armor for sustainability at the start of the game but the price to pay is that if they want red evo, they would have to evolves it later than other party does by grabbing a lvl 3 evo and pray the threshold to upgrade it is small.
