At the end of the day, it's down to the players where he/she wants to land, whether that be with the team or not. I understand what you're saying and it's frustrating having to deal with this but I usually combat it and just follow the guy who solos. It should never be a punishable offence to play a game how you want to.
Sometimes even I will land solo in ranked because I know the spots where a ton of people will drop and you'll be sent to the lobby within minutes. Every time I've done this, my team have been destroyed without even cracking one opponent.
- 3 years ago@DaleFox2012 Most of the time it's the other way round. So people go solo into the hotspots.
If you don't want to play as a squad, you should play an other game. Most times I also dislike going to the hotspots. But the jumpmaster gets the final call. If the 2 other players ping somewhere else, he should go there. Otherwise it's up to him.- reconzero3 years agoSeasoned Ace

I don't want to play as a squad. Ever. I don't want to babysit inexperienced players, indulge reckless players, or be tethered to players who value engagement over objective. But Respawn will not make a solo game mode, so this is what we have to work with.
And sadly Apex matches based on $#%^&, instead of on playstyle. Until that changes most people should be left to their own devices and to learn from their own mistakes. Whether that's your hot drop solo, or me abandoning my hot drop noobs.

And what if i want to go solo, run around my squad and draw all near squads attention by shooting air? Or may be i want to constantly punch my squadmates near ledges? What if i want to just go die at landing and then watch my squad trying to make positive score in duo vs trios?
There are certain paradigm behind BR mode: stick together, get good position, shoot accurately, make some movement, help your squadmates. Player intentionally breaking it without consent of his squad must be forced to play solo one way or another, in ranked(no doubt) and in pubs(unless we able to join squad mid-game). If you are not jumpmaster - you can suggest landing spot, but splitting from your squad in ranked is clearly sabotage.
It's a shame that report for sabotage exists, but don't really work(for now, i hope).- DaleFox20123 years agoNew Ace@aim_with_my_eye That's your opinion and I respect that, as I mentioned though, I'm not throwing my game and points for the sake of a team member who wants to land on 10 other squads and instantly die. I solo Q to masters and can predict what's gonna happen on those stupid drops 90% of the time. You see someone going solo it's up to you if you follow him or leave him.
There's a huge difference with regards to what you've mentioned. Of course deliberately punching your team mates off the map, shooting thin air and deliberately killing yourself is blatant sabotage and should be reported.

Yes, games are meant to be played how you want, the problem with apex being, is that it is SUPPOSED to be a team game, yet hardly anyone treats it that way.
Running off on your own with no care for how your squad does or because that's just how you want to play doesn't make it fair to the rest of the player base who are actually trying to play the game to it's fullest, and that's not something we want to keep dealing with.
Imo there is a 'no fill' button for a reason. You want to solo run, go right ahead, but if you do it without bothering to push the button then you're basically game throwing especially when it comes to ranked matches.
It's one thing when your JM is doing a suicide run, it's completely different if it's just because you want to run on your own.- DaleFox20123 years agoNew Ace@XxColdFangxX There's not a no fill option on ranked and as I mentioned, most people who go solo do this when the JM is landing somewhere stupid where you're going back to the lobby a few moments after. As oldtree said, should said drop master be punished as well for deliberately throwing the game 90% of the time when landing hot?
Ranked is a pain as a whole at times, we ain't throwing our points for the sake of someone who is clueless. If these people complain, then find a full squad, it's quite simple. Otherwise, don't complain if someone doesn't want to throw 60 plus points especially in diamond plus etc.- 3 years ago

If you're going to run solo, you shouldn't be playing ranked. Ranked isn't a play your way game mode. Thinking otherwise defeats the purpose of a ranked competitive gameplay. Ranked is where your communication and teamwork matter the most.
Imo yes, jm should be punished for what I consider to be essentially game throwing when they decide to hot drop their team, especially when said team pings to go elsewhere. Doesn't matter if it's in pub or ranked.
Like I said, it's one thing to separate from your team when jm wants to make a bad call. (Which sounds like what you're doing.)
It's another to do it for petty reasons such as, not wanting to hit the no fill (for pubs obviously, I'm not so noobish that I don't know ranked doesn't have that option) or not liking the lvls of your team, or because you think you're a gaming god.
Not everyone wants to waste their time waiting for replies for a LFG session, especially since people are quite picky about who they want to play with.
As for pubs, if you go into a game with the intention of running on your own and you don't hit the no fill button, then you ruin it for the random teammates you get who might actually be trying to play the game, and because there is a no fill button for people who want to run on their own, then yes I very much consider that kind of conduct game throwing because you place your team at a disadvantage for your own selfish reasons.Apex either needs to
A: enforce the team aspect of the game and stop allowing players to think of their team based game as 'play it your way'
Or
B: Eliminate the team aspect all together, stop limiting us on what game modes we can have with the same excuse of it being a team game, and give us solo modes.
I know there's quite a lot of people who don't see it that way, but that's just my opinion on the matter.
Agree to disagree and QED if you will.
