Reporting Cheaters Issue

Before I begin, this was working perfectly fine the other day. I was able to report people easily via pulling up their profile from in-game, if they were on Origin, and I reconize the menu prompts when its a Steam player, and can clearly tell when they're console due to the console icon. Then suddenly today, for no reason at all, I get hit with this when reporting someone who has obvious aimbot (a level 27, who's snapping to everyone's heads, and a few others using wall hacks):

Sometimes Origin bugs out and messes with my settings, so I thought I'd go and fix it.... well.. that presents another issue:

My settings are under "restricted mode", which requires admin access to do things like launch Origin. I am the only user on my PC, and thus am by default an admin on it, the issue then is, I have this setting turned off:

So right now, I don't know if cheaters are messing with Apex again to where you can't report them, as some users have this error popup, and some do not, or if EA/Respawn is just giving up on the report system, or if its somehow a new function for Steam user reporting that's being worked on, or what.

    Hey @Midnight9746

Thanks for letting us know about what you're running into, currently I am unaware of an issue where you shouldn't be able to report a player you suspect of cheating. To check are you still running into this or was it in the one case?

If so, can you try running through the following?

    • Clear Origin Cache
    • Repair
    • Allowing Origin/Steam and the game through your anti-virus or firewall
    • Run Origin/Steam and Apex as an administrator (by right-clicking desktop icons and selecting 'run as admin")

Also, you can check if Origin in-game was disabled from the game specifically by right-clicking on it in your library > Selecting game properties > Check if the Origin in-game box is checked or not.

    Thanks!

@EA_Illium Forgot to mention, it does pop up the player's Origin profile, but it also pops up the "Hey, overlay is not enabeld!", its just some users don't pop up an overlay error message. Also, I don't think its a cache issue or anything like that, besides the setting is on for Apex:

    • Cache - This never really repairs things for me, besides when Origin wouldn't pull up user's profiles at all, and a clearing of the cache fixed that.
    • Repair - Apex or Origin?
    • Allowing Origin/Steam and the game through your anti-virus or firewall - It is allowed through my firewall.
    • Run Origin/Steam and Apex as an administrator (by right-clicking desktop icons and selecting 'run as admin") - To be honest, I shouldn't need admin mode enabled to play the game, however I'm launching the game right now, and checking with Origin, there's no weird restricted mode enabled anymore, but once Apex fully launches, the mode is enabled without me changing anything.

Hi @Midnight9746 Thanks for the additional information, to check do you have any other overlays running (like discord, MSI afterburner)? If not can you try putting your device in a Clean Boot then launch and see if this continues?

@EA_Illium Discord overlay is never enabled for games like Apex, and I don't use any other overlays. As to the "clean boot", the thing is that launches Windows with the basics, and I already know my drivers for graphics and whatnot are not the problem. I haven't installed anything new, I haven't changed those kind of settings, etc. I think its just the game bugging out, but not quite sure.

@ctyf6rri93dm Actually, something does happen. I think I had gotten a Loba recently banned for using aimbot, but I did send in a clip to EA. I say "I think", because they don't tell you about others bans, but I'm assuming so because I got a response from EA saying they're looking into it, and then "A player report had helped us take action" email.

The reason why you say they don't do anything, and yes it does feel like that for me, is because there's so many cheaters that they're backlogged on it and banning a person doesn't keep them off the game, as IP and HWID bans are unfortunately bypassable.

By reporting cheaters, you are actually helping.
