Personally I did not play her ever before her Ult got extra distance buff (can't remember when was it but they nerfed queue time so you could not instantly go invis but gave lot more distance to portal).
These days for past 2-3 seasons (when playing, given my time for Apex is now limited a lot due to cheaters = just gets boring to play vs software users) I actually gave her a try and she is very viable.
Why:
- you can fake a lot of hackers :) with your queue, they bite on it and prefire like crazy
- queue at times (like 1 in 5) will save you when you did not pay attention to the game or got ratted on
- her portal is much better to create flanks than basically anything in the game, worse players would actually think that two teams are shooting them if you take it back and forth
- many players will stop shooting / focusing you when you queue out or portal out, rarely anyone dares to follow through portal after you
- you can cross a lot of open ground to find cover / better position / scout especially in late rings with limited space
I also play without in game voice lines = so her passive is lost for me. Still I get a lot of value with her. Especially on Broken moon, Kings canyon and partially Olympus because of how open those maps are / how great you can go from cover to cover.
Personally given above said I would only change her passive with some visual "spider sense" animation say incoming damage arrows just in different color would appear on screen indicating that you are being aimed at and rough direction. Because I also assume that people with hearing issues also do miss out on this feature of Wraith = visual backup along with voice lines would create more equal opportunities.
Other than that she is kinda fine imo.
