Revenant Rework - Totem Change and Climb

Even after the buff, Revenant lacks. My main problem with him is his climbing...

His climb should be much higher and a LOT faster, maybe even the speed of the shadow climb in "Enter the Revenants"

It is way too slow and I always get knocked while trying to out-manuever enemies. It's hight also lacks compared to legends like Loba, Octane, and Pathfinder, who can all get even higher than him a lot quicker.

The Ultimate:

The totem is very boring to use. It doesn't offer any new gameplay mechanics. It just sends you back to it if you die. The totem also doesn't make any sense within the lore of the game. As seen in "Enter the Revenants", the totem turns you into a shadow from the shadowfall gamemode back during Halloween. This is how it works in all the lore, but in-game you are just a normal player but look like a shadow. This doesn't make any sense and it should turn you into the proper shadow. It should also have a much larger radius, so that you could use it to run away at high speeds as a shadow.

 

The ultimate should turn you into a shadow that runs fast, climbs fast and infinitely, makes you silent, and does high amounts of melee damage. Of course, you would also have very low health. This way you can sneak up on enemy players and get a hit in before being sent back to the totem to charge straight back in. You do a high amount of damage by hitting them and then charge back in with your guns.

 

This would open up new gameplay mechanics and would bring back a part of the shadowfall gamemode that EVERYONE loved so so much. It would make Revenant a lot more fun to play, as well as giving him the push for more players to use him.

  • @Monhulio I really dont get why people keep defending him saying he is fine when he is obviously not, I have been here for a while now and I noticed that whenever someone come with a creative and fun buff there would be always someone who refuse it

    That's a bit of a bland statement as if you take away all legend abilities suddenly you have things where certain legends are straight up easier to hit.

    While I completely agree that you should not be 100% dependent on your abilities, I would say to try and completely nullify their effect in a fight isn't wise. That's why pathfinders & wraiths are so incredibly common. They are not only hard to hit, but ability stacked to be powerhouses for their usability.

    Now if you are asking, would I want to see revenent brought IN LINE with these guys? Absofrickenlutely. In THAT regard? We are 100% on the same page.

    Do I agree with what you say is wrong with him however? Not necessarily. That's where we need to stress what we agree on rather than disagree.
  • @Monhulio You asked for reference and basis of my talk and I sent you a link and date of analysing play of many Apex players (considering Apex has above 70 million players), which shows Revenant has a very low win rate and poor usage and play rate. Now you are telling me your own personal experience playing Revenant... Honestly at this point I can not argue with you any more.

  • Bro don't act like you're the only Revenant main. I main him too... 20 bomb, 2,700 kills, over 100 wins. I KNOW how good he can be, but he is super boring and NEEDS changes. You're not the only person with an opinion.

  • I think a lot of the appeal in Revenant is lost from the lack of synergy between his abilities. He's kind of like the new bangalore for me where the abilities are cool and unique but they just don't really make sense together.

    That I can understand. With that logic, the theme would be silent & deadly.
    Passive makes you move silent and quick.
    Tactical silences enemies.
    Which would imply what his ultimate is missing is silent activation & silent movement in shadow form for all users.
