School Review Essay_Don't care if you hate it.

Apex Predator of Battle Royales

Today I will be giving my honest and personal review on Apex Legends. This is for all of the Video game players and followers alike. Apex Legends is a game created by Respawn Entertainment and overseen by EA. There is a lot of bad blood between Gamers and EA of late and I want to bring to the table a review by someone who just enjoys games and isn’t paid to tell you what you want to hear. I am going to touch on the following subjects. The monetary devotion needed to enjoy this game, The game modes and Co-op play and the actual gameplay feel and bugs.

Let us begin with the Monetary Devotion this game requires. The game itself is free - to - play and as far as can be told, any future DLC will be able to be purchased with the in game earnable currency. However, there are a few costs associated with being able to play this game. These include: the cost of whichever platform you choose to play on, whether that be PC, Xbox, or Playstation. It will also cost money for the internet connection required for playing this game as well as electricity and most importantly, a live subscription to the platform service you choose (Excluding PC, simply requires internet and proper specifications). As aforementioned, there is an in - game currency that can be earned and used to pay for in game items. This means that if you are already subscribed to the service and have the platform, this game is completely free - to - play after installation. Other than these natural and common costs this game is free and there for your entertainment.

Next will be the Games modes and Co-op Play. At present there is only one game mode so to speak and that is Trios. Where you and 2 other people are placed on a team and dropped onto a map with 57 other players and forced to fight to the death to be the champion of the match. Also, within this co-op mode there are the functions of reviving and respawning, which makes this a great game to mess around in with friends when you want to just have fun. This is a game that is steered toward Cooperative play amongst friends. There are also a variety of characters to play as for you and your friends, given that there can only be one of each character per team, this is important for people who are seriously into power builds. Some negatives that can be seen clearly are, that there is not a solo-player-friendly game mode as of right now. Also, there is the cap of only one of each character per team, though this balances the game functions, it is kind of upsetting when someone else picks your main character before you get the chance.

The final aspects of the game we will be going over are the Gameplay feeling and the bugs the game has currently. I would like to first point out the fact that for a free - to -play game by a triple AAA title creator, this game looks phenomenal. The movement and virtual motor controls are intuitive and feel smooth. It is truly a visually stunning experience in my opinion. There are also very few bugs in the game despite it being released at the end of January. The game also provides a highly complex Random Loot Generator that ensures every game will be different and no two games will feel the same. I mentioned the bugs the game has earlier, some of them can be quite tedious and annoying. One such Bug, is that on occasion there will be a lag in your private party and only one or two of the members will load into the game. There is an easy fix for this and it is simply to have everyone in the party reset their game. Likewise there is a bug that just randomly freezes or crashes your game in the middle of a match or gunfight, unfortunately they do not yet have function that allows you to rejoin the match or team yet. Another drawback in this category would be the fact that this game has a very different feel from other Battle Royale games in that the control scheme can take up to ten matched to truly get the hang of.

Now, though Apex Legends is still in the early stages of release, has bug problems and a limited amount of content right now. I recommend that you install this game, you will find yourself enjoying the flow and visuals more than you think. Currently it is the most popular Battle Royale game on the market and it is free. It has already beaten out Fortnite by grossing over ten million players in less than a week, if you are looking for a new battle royale game then this one might be the right one for you.

  • I'm sorry, but i didn't read. Not because it was rubbish, or i don't care - but the formatting comes across as a giant wall of text which for me made it really difficult to read past the first 3 lines.

If you edit it to split up your paragraphs with some line breaks (press enter key twice at the end of every paragraph) I'll be happy to give it a read and feedback - if that's what you're after. 🙂
