Making long range fights more prominent with a super buffed sniper Meta is a horrible mistake in a movement oriented game. Every game is so dull and boring when you get shot from 5 directions by 5 teams camping 500 yards away doing insane damage now with the Vantages Sniper plus Skullpiercer rounds.You try to engage a team and get pooped on from every direction with nothing you can do. The only option is to fight one team and die or sit and snipe the whole game which is not Apex Legends and hurts pubs.

I don't understand how people can just talk about how sniping has been there since day one to act as if we are exaggerating.I have been playing since Season 0. Many of the people I have met in Apex have stopped because of what the game has become. Of course, you're in a wrong spot if you're getting shot from distance by 5 different squads. But the whole point is that it never was like that. Back in the days when we would spot a team in the distance shooting in the valley, we'd get closer. Now, my random teammates are just shooting with their Sentinel or godforsaken Charge Rifle from distance. Throughout the seasons we have also seen an increase in legends that simply promote the camping kind of gameplay like Rampart or this new legend. Also Storm Point was released, a map where in many places an R99 is just useless. And then the weapons, throughout the seasons we have seen the release of weapons like the Charge Rifle (...hate this thing), Sentinel, Bocek, Repeater and now the G7 back in ground loot. It's true that sniping has been there since day one. But since these last couple of seasons the community is being pushed into long-distance combat along with camping a lot. Apex in the first few seasons wasn't known for that. It is slowly becoming a different game. I used to tell my friends who were playing Warzone and Battlefield that I don't enjoy those games because I prefer action-packed close combat gameplay. But the only shooter I'm playing is becoming yet another one of those BR's, slowly losing its unique identity.And stop acting like sniper meta isn't a thing, why the hell would so many people complain about it then? I'm not as pessimistic to say that the game is destroyed. It just needs a push back towards where it came from. Give us back a bit of that game we all enjoyed because of its continuous action.

@reconzero I wasn't going to say anything but after about 25 hours into Season 14 and Vantage being added, I will give my take on her and the NEW sniper meta.I will start by saying, I do not believe Vantage is overpowered. However - we all know that sniping is an art. It cannot just be done by anyone. One must have skills, posses skills or have learned skills in order to be a good sniper (in any game.)One must be their own spotter, have a keen eye, scan, recon (actually look and scout for enemies.)A sniper has always been (high skill, high reward) its the trade off for such a hard hitting weapon capable of downing someone in one or two shots....and so it should be, for people who are able, because again....not everyone is capable of being that good with a sniper. Hence the last 13 seasons with just some snipers here and there as opposed to 30 snipers a match present.In my opinion I see Vantage's passive much like Seer's passive although it cannot pinpoint enemies through walls et cetera....so I see it as a, lets say....a line of sight hack, for lack of a better word.Even with mid range to long range sights, a enemy depending on their distance from the sniper is miniscule, especially when the distance is long range away. The sniper still has to constantly scan to see enemies, yes even sometimes when they are out in the open...again depending on the distance. Many snipers lose sight of their enemy, especially when stationary at long range.However, that is not the case with Vantage....all the skills I have mentioned above that have always been needed for any sniper to be good, is lost. Much like Seer, just hit a button and watch the little squares jump to all the players in their screen without having to do anything, as well as the velocity is pretty much marked for you. You can be half blind and still can use a Vantage in the Apex games. Thank you Respawn.You have taken something that used to be high skill, high reward and turned it into - low skill high reward and even - no skill, high reward.I am not a sniper user, ever, at all, terrible with them. I have been using Vantage a bit, when I aim down sight, a little box goes over ppl I had no idea were there, even looking through my sight, I was too far away to even see them. But....up goes a little box and shows me what I am unable to see with my own eye and gee....all I have to do is aim for the center of the square no matter how miniscule the person is and boom...enemy down. Its pathetic...I am without argument one of the worst sniper users you'll ever see - and I was clapping ppl like I was born with one in my hand.Nobody with a high powered sniper rifle should be able to press one button and be given that much info for free without earning the skill to do so. Hence why some ppl are finding for the first time in 13 seasons, are being downed from sniper rifles from every corner of the map, even when they are not able to see far enough away to know where they are being hit from.But at this point, Respawn's decision making on Legend abilities - this did not surprise me at all. Their ability to balance speaks for itself.This is just what I found and feel playing since Season 14 launch.That and for some reason, enemy footsteps are actually worse this season for me anyway....than any previous season.Other than the above and the changes to ring 1....I like new the rest of the changes to the KC and for the most part am having a bit of fun for the first time in awhile.

@Asmodeus566 This season it happens to me if i was to put a range on it 80% of my ranked matches. 20% being 3v3 or even 3v6. It def is not an isolated game. It happens nearly every match just that extra 20% that's how many times I'm able to escape it. So I agree with OP it happens nearly every game. I am not one to comment on these type of posts but I will say I personally in my lobbies see a mass load of snipers.

@reconzero Apex has never been about mid to long range since I've been playing on day 1. It's always been close to mid range with snipers being used here and there. Not sure what game you're playing brother

Im reading "this season is garbage and like every new legend thats launched before is not tuned properly as per EA/Respawn Policy"There is really no point in having shields anymore, every gun is a laser. You literally cant run for cover in a fight.Kings Canyon is still literal garbage. 14 seasons and its still being ripped apart by the pros. That should tell you something.The Heat shield as a hat bug is still prominent, why is this not being fixed? watching Valks fly into the sky wearing a heat shield is ridiculous.Also, Vantage gets a blue square on the target before she even looks directly at them. Just scan the horizon, youll see the teams.another season, another let down by Respawn.

@Asmodeus566 This I disagree with. There are matches where positioning just does not matter. I have been caught in the middle of 5 teams just sniping and there is nowhere to rotate to avoid it. The game has had a drastic change when it comes to snipers this season. If in ranked on kc its a sniper fest. Usually 2 of the 3 running some type of mid range or long range weapon. So for me I put in tons of games each season and even though we are only weeks into this season I notice a huge difference. As mentioned apex was mostly an up close and personal game. Where movement mattered. So while positioning could be a factor there are times you just are pinned even if your in a good position. Where you then are sniped to death from multiple teams who decided lets stop fighting each other and focus on this team.

Well, in addition to forced by S13 ranked policy "position play"(a.k.a. ratting and camping mostly) and diminished ring-free time(earlier shrink/more damage) the problem is definetly exists.

I see what you mean and occasionally one may have the per se best position and at the same time worst because they are surrounded by teams and all the teams focus them for some reason.
Yup there really is no escaping that. But really how often does that happen, in the past and now. for me in the past maybe once or twice currently in the new season not yet.
The OP suggests that this is happening repeatedly to them. All I can say to that, is game sense and positioning is king and knowing when to retreat instead of stay for a losing fight is the thing to do and that is, in truth, generally the case, yes there are outliers and situations that are non escapable and beyond planning but that is not the majority of cases.
I almost never have been pinned down without the possibility of being able to escape and reposition.

I agree that there are a mass load of snipers right now compared to last season, @chiefthunderball is correct about that. It is not easy to deal with.
I disagree that it is so bad that one constantly finds oneself surrounded and sniped in a 3v15.
Maybe the degree or severity of the situation the OP is stating is somewhat lobby type driven and or even playstyles from server to server and region driven along with time of day/night. IDK it just seems to be not all that bad at all for me as of yet. German servers, late evenings/night time and Gold lobbies.

@heme725 Thanks heme, i wouldnt know...but my son talks like you do about it. Kids a born sniper in all games since he was a kid. He explains it the same way as you...that thrill lining up the perfect shot, getting the hit, knock or kill. He says its the most satisfying thing ever lol. It took him along time to get as good as he is with snipers. He also finds it depleting to see, how like you said - all the work is done for you now. Seems like a slap in the face to hand fake skills to everyone, while truly talented snipers had to work for their skill. And apex moves into new uncharted waters yet again. Guess the wall hacking Seer just wasnt enough. Might need a life jacket this time around. Oooh and a hearing aid turn up to high. ; )

By your logic I should never fight or engage a team and run and hold until final ring because I might get sniped at due to my "positioning". Sorry man but we play very different games

Hey there Chief, no need to be jumping on me like that. I agree that Snipers are currently more prevalent and are a pain in the neck, but that should settle down in the next few weeks.
I was just saying that if you are getting sniped from 5 directions it might be your play style if it is constantly happening. This is not what is happening to me and that is all I could conclude based off of what you described.
I never said or implied that you should never engage a fight or team and camp and run till final ring. I did say that not every team is worth pushing and I will stand by that. The point is to win the game not come up as first loser.
Mid to long range weapons have been here all along and I do like to Poke and Push, R-301, Hemi, or G7 is great for the Poke and for the Push R-99, Car or any other SMG works well in combination with Movement Legends to close the gap quickly, Pathy, Octane or Valk.
Yes we play very different games and have different styles, I am however not the camper you think me to be.
Either way as of last night I am sitting at a 6.5% win rate on the season so I must be doing something right.

I think they seem pretty convinced that they want this META like this now when I tried to play for a bit yesterday.
The ammount of pre-mades is over the roof nowadays so they probably wanted something for them.
I mean this game is overally more suited for pre-made teams anyway if they play in same lobbies as solos and this is going to cost them a lot of solo players without gamer friends when Warzone 2 releases.
They made it clear in S13, this is team-based game and if you dont have a team its bad for you I guess.
This META is pretty toxic not gonna lie. Already got oneshotted by pre-made team Snipers mark + Longbow and got solo killed by Snipers mark only because it deals damage of charged Sentinel in following shots.
Snipers mark in pre-made team hands is game-breaking. There is trully no place for casual solo player in this game anymore.
I dont know, just play Trios if you cant stand this, it wont change anytime soon, think it may get even worse because this is team-based game and you dont have what this game is based on so I think it can get pretty hard for you.

it is not all as bad as you make it sound.
I played 4 matches last night Solo Q ranked and placed top ten in all of the games one was a top 5 and the last game we won.
None of my sqd mates were premade duo's either so we were completely a three stack of Randoms.
Sure Vantage is out there and makes things difficult but what legend makes anything easy?
