So why do people want low kill times

I'm not a pro or a hardcore br enthusiast but I seriously wonder why people want to lower the killtime in this game? One argument I saw was that they emptied an entire smg in a dude and they didnt die. Alright if thats the case why not alter smgs instead of altering the entire system? Another argument I gathered was that getting the drop on people isnt as rewarding? Then I ask did you get the drop on your own or did you and your team shoot them and they didnt die. (And i dont mean in one fell burst they immediately pop but maybe more of a chase or *) Then I see people saying they want solos. Adding that part confuses me because it seems to me that they want to make this game identical to other brs. Then I see people being sad they didnt add the titanfall 2 movement. Again I can understand that but this isnt titanfall its a titanfall spinoff. I think this is a good middle between the high skillcap of titanfall movement and the slow trudge of other brs. Im not trying to be inflammatory and I concede I might just be a noob but again this is the first br game that had me actively enjoy playing it. Tl.dr. I dont think the time to kill is too slow, but I guess I can see smgs doing low dmg,  but why weaken all shields instead of buffing smgs? Idk I just find myself enjoying the game's pace as it is greatly rn and I think as it is it can stand on its own in the market.

  • IMO, it feels "rewarding" enough as is. You simply have to be more accurate with your shots or use melee to finish off somebody.
  • This is 100% not true. There is a huge skill gap because headshots do an insane amount of damage. If you watch shroud(who got his name in cs go)  he almost always pics an smg over anything and he just has high skill to get headshots and still beat anyone he comes across. He also agrees the TTK should not be reduced.

Yeah by the way, using melee is actually a very good point. I never played another PvP FPS where finishing firefights with melee were as much of a thing as in here. And that's yet another example of how this higher TTK enriches the gameplay as well as broadens the skill sets because you have to be able to judge whether the enemy is low enough to go for it and whether you are in a position to pull it off.

  • Perhaps once you're a bit more skilled, such as going competative, this can be implimented?
Fortnite - you can't insta kill people.
PUBG - you can't insta kill people.
Ops - you can't insta kill people.

Only games I've seen where you die extremely fast?  BFV and CS:GO.

Until you go into competative modes, or something like that...  I don't see the need to adjust anything.
You're asking for EA to completely flush out, or get rid of, the average player due to competativeness.

I think the amount of shots to kill a player is perfect.  Some guns need to be nerfed a bit, but that will come in time.

I have to disagree with alot of comments saying a 2 man team can't kill a 3 man team combo as me and a friend duo'd most games yesterday as most of our 3rd randoms kept dc'n or running off on their own and dying then diconnecting, we won a few games and we placed top 5 several times with 15 or more kills between us at times the games fine and people just need to readjust themselves to the game NOT try and readjust the game to their needs.

Why don't you go and actually read literally anything in this thread? You'll find every comment worth reading cause people have been nice.

lower TTK makes a skill gap matter.

It really doesn't, read back for reason's why. For the quick version, Shooting better is more skillful than who shot faster. Who shoots first will matter much less and the guy with better aim will likely come out on top, I much rather die to someone with well placed aim than some spray and pray nonsense. high TTK forces you to stay on target for longer, you wont likely get a lucky kill, like you would with a low TTK.

Just sounds to me like you prefer low TTK games, which is fine, plenty of them out there to be played, but the overall point is this one does Not need to be every other game on the market. Sadly low TTK is Very casual friendly (instant gratification) so most devs tend to pick that style, and thus why we are saturated in multiplayer games that are increasingly clone feeling.
