Still no Effort to Stop Cheaters, Huh?

I really appreciate getting killed and proceeding to watch the player that killed me getting nothing but headshots on every target with flawless tracking. It's even more fun when I swap over to the next player in their squad and they're doing the same thing.

I really like how impotent Respawn is when it comes to stopping these cheaters. It's awesome to see how emboldened the cheaters are that they'll even squad up and set their cheats for 100% headshots because they know what a joke Easy Anti-Cheat and Respawn are. They know that even ragebotting isn't enough to get them banned.

I really like how cheaters can be reported constantly but nothing happens to them for weeks, months, or sometimes at all. Knowing that they can get to the top-ranks without being banned unless a well-known streamer sends in video evidence of them speedhacking and getting 100% headshots makes me so happy and really encourages me to spend money on this game.

More than anything though, I REALLY like how I've recorded incontrovertible evidence of a well known streamer using a triggerbot because he got caught in a FoV glitch multiple times within the span of 2 minutes, yet the lad continues to play on the same account to this day and continues to show obvious signs of botting. It's such a great thing to know that if someone was so inclined and/or well-known enough then they can cheat in Apex Legends with absolute impunity.

Irony aside, it's such a shame that an incredibly fun game like Apex is entirely overshadowed by Respawns impotence, incompetence, and unwillingness to actually work on addressing the situation. I know fanbois will jump all over me and make nonsensical arguments such as "if stop cheat so easy den y u no stop cheetahs?" but the reality is far and removed from a fanbois perception. 


Respawn, you all could do so much more to make it that much more difficult to cheat in Apex Legends but you don't and won't. It's not that you can't, you all just make no effort. You tell us something is being done: lies; the same kind of cheats are being used to the same affect. You tell us about the number of players you've caught cheating and have banned: platitudes; you think that by telling us we'll believe you're actually working on it.

Certain companies (which I won't go into great detail about) have what's known as a DMCA Compliance Division. These people sit behind a computer 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday, and all for the sole purpose of finding sites that are uploading their content without permission (i.e. without paying). I'm sure you all understand the concept since you're an EA subsidiary and we know how much EA loves its $$$$.

It'd be a simple task of hiring a few people to fill a similar role except their purpose would be to find sites uploading cheats, acquire them, and add them to a blacklist. Ensuring players that choose to cheat don't get to cheat for very long... however, it would seem that Respawn would sooner have the entirety of their legitimate playerbase suffer from rampant cheating than to create a few jobs and proactively seek to stymie these cheaters.


Players have to do the entirety of the work to get a cheater banned. We have to volunteer the cheats over to EAC because they make no proactive effort to go out and identify the cheats themselves. Which means we have to spend our money to acquire these cheats just so we can hand them over and have EAC sit on them until they can be bothered to update their blacklist accordingly. We have to record the cheaters cheating and hope that the people reviewing the footage either recognize our name as being a big streamer with a lot of online clout so they actually move on it to resolve the case and to satisfy us/our fans, or hope that the person reviewing it is self-aware enough to recognize cheats when they're right in front of their face.

Frankly, the whole situation is an absolute exercise in bad-faith from both Respawn and EAC. If you all think that you can fool us into believing that you actually care by operating the way that you do then just know that at the very least there's one person out there that sees straight through you, your lies, and your platitudes.

    @xTomboyRespecter I'm confused about what you want them to do about sites that share cheats? They can't just wave a wand and take them down? You want them to pay people to find cheating sites, purchase those cheats, decompile them and figure out how they're cheating, then patch it? So pay cheaters? Hell I'll throw up a website claiming CHEAP APEX HAX so Respawn can pay me! So many of those sites you see are absolute scams that just steal your money, should Respawn just endlessly throw money at them? Then they change their domain name and Respawn throws more money at them? That's just silly.

    And even when you do find a legitimate cheat, the people making them would simply obfuscate the code to hide what they're doing. No matter what you do, the people making these cheats make big money, so they're not going to just roll over and die.

    If there was a catch-all method to stop cheating we'd all love it, but there just isn't.

    What I do agree with you on is that they SHOULD try to do more. Easy Anti-Cheat is aptly named for how easy it is to circumvent. I think it's important to acknowledge that it's not an easy issue to solve, as much as we'd like it to be, while also making sure to keep pushing them to improve.

    I truly don't believe we'll ever see absolutely no hacking, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to prevent as much of it as we can.

    @Nightstick24 Thanks for your reply. While I understand your perspective, I have to respectfully disagree.
    Cheat providers make money off of selling active cheats. Nobody is gonna buy cheats from a provider that can't keep their cheats active for longer than 24-48hrs. They'd have to privatize their cheats which would greatly limit their exposure and also limit the amount of players that'd be buying. Either way, they'd be economically crippled.
    Even if they privatized their cheats they still couldn't make the amount of bankroll that they currently do unless they managed to hook a whale that'd be happy to pay thousands just so they can cheat. I'm sure somebody somewhere would be willing to fork up the cash but at the very least we wouldn't have the current situation that we do now where we're almost guaranteed to get at least 1 cheater in every match.
    Respawn/EAC wouldn't even have to pay much either. These cheats can be licensed to any user for a short duration at the cost of a pittance.
    So what if EA/Respawn/EAC pay cheat providers a few hundred to get a hold of their cheats so they can shut them down? They make that money and way more back off of cosmetics, passes, etc. It's also not as if the cheat providers can pay their bills with a few hundred dollars. If that was their economic game-plan then they'd be homeless within a month even if they tried to be frugal.

    You say that the cheat providers would just obfuscate the code; but they're already doing that... yet EAC will accept a full upload of any cheat and blacklist it if it's confirmed to be a cheat. Obviously they have the capability, so to me it's just an unwillingness to go a little further.
    So they'll basically do what I'm suggesting already but only if it's at the expense of us--the community. Why should we have to pay cheat-providers just so we can send their cheats over to EAC or Respawn? I presume you and certainly I don't have the bankroll or freetime to be buying up cheats from various providers for the sole purpose of sending them in nor should we be expected to. Nobody from the playerbase should be expected to do something like that. Whereas Respawn and EA most certainly do have the bankroll and can pay someone for their time to do it. After all, they want to consider themselves a service provider (remember: we don't own the game, we only license the right to play). So to me it's only sensible that they should take the responsibility upon themselves to proactively seek to stymie cheaters as much as possible. They should secure their service!

    Yeah this is legit INSANE at this point... I mean - it's not even like 1 cheater once a night... Its like EVERY game - and they are blatant about it...

    Games not even playable at this point...

    GLHF EA... I hope your cash cow stays alive.

    They not doing anything to stop? Then pls tell me who made the new system were top players can post live clips on a discord channel. Ive seen severeal pro use it, and if there is a mod online on the discord, they will get banned on the spot?? i guess you didnt do you home work before starting whining about respawn not doing anything. It was actually a respawn employee that asked for permnision to start this system. further more the problem is not that cheaters dont get banned, its all the tools they use to make new acounts right after they got banned. they even have topols to start playing ranked i diamond to pred lobbies ewven thought they not even reached lvl 10. An if you have doubts you can go to G7Dolphin stream on twicht and ask him what it is and how to use it. good day sir.

    @LuckyNoPants LOL sending 1 clip in from "Top" Players is catching 1-5 people a day most likely while 100 thousand or more still running around. So yea they doing nothing. We dont need to watch no one on stream people need to stop saying this crap. Who cares wtf another person on stream experiences. WE experience it every day.

    @LuckyNoPantsClearly you didn't read the entirety of my post, you're a fanboi, you're willfully ignorant, or some combination of the aforementioned problems.

    I already touched on and acknowledged what you'r referring to so your point is moot. 
    Do yourself a favor and refrain from commenting in threads you don't understand, especially if you have nothing to offer.

    @xTomboyRespecter I thought Respawn bans the hardware. So if you get banned for cheating, you get your PC hardware banned so you cant start another account and continue cheating without first buying a new computer.

    where do you hear it from?
    if its that kind of anti cheat the hacker who create the cheat and make money from it wouldnt sell/make it cause its to risky, in reality here in SG server it still trash server (or cheater heaven), just 1 hr before i reply this, try to comeback to this game, still cheater paradise, spoofer, macro, aimbot you name it, and they probably not dumb enough not using vpn + it so easy to make new account, those report button while it somehow work, they just make new account and ruin other ppl game cause they pissed their main account got banned
