Doubtful this game is ever a fossil. Internet hyperbole. I mean Overwatch is trashing it's own game and while their population keeps dropping, there are plenty of people who play it.
Apex is still more popular than Overwatch, too.
Apex is fine. Truth is, Evo shields were better just for the event because in Deja Loot, all the loot locations were the same. Agree it isn't as good in regular game mode, but seriously, it's fine. It's not some apocalyptic awfulness like you make it out to be, OP.
The Evo shield should just simply be more rare and better. Don't have it lose a shield box, that's unnecessary. If you have the same shield boxes as your standard white and blue versions, it just means the EVO shield is more valuable, let rng and chance to drop handle the rest. People will ditch white armor for White EVO but not necessarily a straight blue, for example.
Other than that, there's a lot of screaming and crying about Apex. Probably it's just more useful to talk about what's wrong with it and maybe it will be improved. The game is free, if you want it to be. Epic will adjust based on that, they want people to play and they want their game to be better so people will keep checking out the store and battle pass. They know to keep their game popular they have to do that.
@KelRiever Game won't die man, Apex have got a taste on how to milk out the consumers and that's what they're doing now instead of balancing the gameplay and characters. Maybe as the thread suggests the top guys will leave, even people like me after getting frustrated over poor quality of teammates in random queuing over time and again will leave too but the consumers will remain, they're getting their skins and other cosmetics. Even the bottom tier and below average tier will remain as they always get better teammates or teammates of their caliber so they aren't unhappy like us.
Personal tastes aside, I think people forget how much the game has improved since launch.
The addition of 4 more characters, the skins in the store or in the battle pass that aren't complete trash anymore (and let's remember, no battle pass to start), a new map which plays differently than the first (and my personal opinion is better, but I get that people miss KC).
I mean, I don't know, the game is still young compared to what's come out. I would think people stick with this until they see another map drop, more characters, and so on. I think the game is in a fine place right now, and I know not everyone is going to like everything, so I'm not saying anything against someone's own experience.

And EVO shields need +1 box each to bring them back to a normal level.
