    @MaxGenPilotWhile it’s a nice idea, myself and a few others have talked about it in the past on these forums, and a major issue that was brought up is that it would be hard to make the drone face the right way. It has 240° of vision, which is good, but not the best with only a 30m scan distance, and so the scan is pretty dependent on the correct orientation of the drone.

    Another thing brought up was that having a constant moving scan is not the healthiest for the game. Crypto’s scan is balanced by the fact that it has to sit in one spot and risk being destroyed. Respawn is already working on nerfing scans in apex, as they have with Seer and Bloodhound, because to be honest it isn’t the best mechanic to have to play against.

In my opinion, Crypto could benefit from one change in particular. Interestingly enough, this buff would not be an alteration within his kit but rather a change to the way his drone interacts with windows on all the maps. This interaction being the fact that crypto's drone can scan the other side while being on the opposite side of a window (a one-way scan mechanic). Although there are already some windows with which crypto's drone can already interact like this, an augmentation in the number of windows that can be scannable through the other side would benefit crypto IMMENSELY. I am writing this also because in the new Final Fantasy Update, they took crypto's ability to scan through windows in some areas of the map that were previously scannable in King's Canyon  (meaning that his drone scanned the player through the other side). I don't know if this is a bug (and indeed I hope it is) because a hindrance in his ability to provide useful info via a mechanic that is unique to him only takes away from his potential; they should be looking to up his potential instead.

    My idea would be to decrease the time it takes going into and out of the drone once deployed.

    Although still pretty quick as it is. New crypto players could benefit from a faster response time through the animations. This can be used for quick repositioning of the drone and quick peeks at the surrounding area without taking too much time spent in the animations.

    But I like Crypto as is but always room for micro improvements.
