@Schaapje1987 Game's intentions ≠ a fixed, unchangeable mechanic. There are ideas in this forum that defy the initial game's logic and were still widely accepted by the community. In my opinion, Valkyrie also doesn't fit into the game, but here we are.
There is also no risk/reward related thing, as risking your life grabbing a banner in time adds the additional risk of drawing attention due to a massive, audible drop-ship. Additionally, there's also a high risk that in the respawn area is no loot left, leaving your team mates basically bare bones. In other words, the only reward you get is when you actually manage to find loot for your team mates.
The buy-back idea also adds it's own drawbacks. Given that replicating a banner costs about 150 materials and you lose 2 team mates, that's 300 materials that you need to obtain. Which in itself is going to be a massive chore. Which is also a risk/reward kind of thing. That's in the best case scenario 12 material containers you have to find and open.
Point in case, there is little to no drawback to this idea, other than the convenience for less skilled players to be given a second chance.
