I dont think its about farming RPs tbh. Because it all seems way to time consuming and risky when the "reward" just is to give one team maxed out Kill and Assist multipliers. I mean, I could see some group of try hard kids trying this stunt to boost themselves from Diamond to Master but even with a maxed out kill/assist count, they still need get a good placement to make it worth it. But in higher ranks, people spread out very much from the dropship so it will be very hard to find a spot, with a crafting station, that hasnt enemies at or near it.
I think the reason they are doing it is to farm 20kill badges (and maybe dmg badges) and the reason they are doing it in ranked is not for RP but since its easier for teaming players to get into the same lobby if the press start match at the same time, if they all are the same rank. The reason why they use Watson is because her kills are silent (wont attract 3rd parties) and requires no ammo with fences so I guess they could have done it almost as easily with Caustic or with punches with any legend. So I dont think this really is a Watson-issue OR a portable respawn beacon-issue but simply a teaming-issue. Sure; being able to craft multiple portable beacons makes this much easier ofc but it still the teaming that the problem here =)
Btw what did you mean win Watsons win rate? Farming kills, dmg or RP by teaming doesnt make you win the game?
PS. For the record; even if you get 6 other friends, i.e 3 teaming teams in total, to partake in this, it would still take you 10 respawn drop ships to get a 20kill badge since you can only kill 2 in each team every turn so that the third can respawn them again. Hrmmm are people really that desperate to have badges they dont deserve in the first place?
they are looking to get 6 kills/assists (previously the cap) and that's it. not a 20 badge. having 6 KP guaranteed per game makes it way easier to rank up even if you don't win. ratting to 4th in plat gives you +4. with 6 KP it gives you almost 100RP for a game where you did nothing.

And entry cost for platinum is -36. They have to consistently pair up with another squad 1 out of every 2 matches just to break even, and then they have to hope to land in a quiet spot, go through the effort of crafting, dying, and respawning. And through all of that, they're surrounded by thirsty players who didn't need to cheat their way to a 20-kill badge.
I fully believe there are people willing to go to that level of effort, but I also doubt that anyone who feels the need to do it could hold their own even in bronze IV. Because if they could, then they'd just be doing that.
This does sound like people are just taking advantage of quicker queue times to farm some badges.
