Weapon buffs/nerfs/tweaks for S4

I think the balance in Apex is mooostly fine after the charge rifle nerfs, but I'm still hoping to see some more tweaks for weapons.

The bottom three weapons, P2020/RE-45/Mozambique, feel a bit too weak as is. Especially the RE-45 since it had its hop-up removed. I'd really like to see the following for them:

Bottom three

P2020: Damage increased from 13 to 15 (to match Alternator). Hammerpoint tweaked so it still does 35. Right now it relies a little bit -too- much on its hop-up to get anything done.

Mozambique: Mag size increased from 3 to 6. Just straight up. It'd still be a worse Wingman in most situations, but at least it would make it a more reliable finisher with hammerpoint, and would let you use the short reloads more easily. We've had 3 seasons of it being a meme weapon, can't we have it at least be usable for S4?

RE-45: Damage increased from 11 to 12 (to match R99). Let it equip hammerpoint. Damage with hammerpoint in the 20-24 range, so a P2020 with the hop-up still kills someone without a shield faster. This would make a fully kitted RE-45 an actual threat, and a very viable weapon, but it still wouldn't outgun the R-99 against anyone with shields. Right now, it's possibly the weakest fully kitted weapon (I'd personally rank a fully kitted Mozambique very slightly over it), with no niche to fill. Giving it hammerpoint would let it serve as a third alternative for a finisher weapon.

Snipers

G7 Scout: Reduce the rate of fire slightly, by ~10%? Right now it drops people a bit too fast. Don't think the damage should be touched though, 34 feels really nice on it.

Longbow: Increase projectile speed. For what feels like the closest thing to a traditional sniper (barring Kraber), the slow projectiles really make long range fights a bit too unfavorable. Even the G7 feels more reliable for long range.

Triple Take: Increase fire rate slightly, by ~10%? This weapon feels like it's focused on mid-range, especially without a precision choke, but it lacks the fire rate to really compete with the alternatives at mid range, and the spread/choke time (without/with hop-up) is too high to compete at long range. Giving it a more midrange niche would suit the weapon as it is.

Shotguns

Mozambique: Have already been discussed above. Magazine from 3 to 6.

Peacekeeper: Ammo per shot increased from 1 to 2. Magazine increased from 6 to 10, effectively giving it 5 shots. Slightly nerf reload speed. Peacekeeper has always been the dominant shotgun, but rather than hitting its power directly, I think nerfing its sustain (doubled ammo consumption, 1 less shot, slower reload) could be a good way of reigning it in without changing its feel.

Ammo stack increased from 16 to 20. Ammo pickups increased from 8 to 10 per box to match the stack increase. This buffs the amount of shotgun ammo for the Mozambique and EVA-8, while still resulting in a net ammo nerf for the Peacekeeper with the above change.

I feel like LMGs, ARs and SMGs are mostly fine as they are, though Anvil Reciever feels a little lacking. Less kick or faster rate of fire would be nice if the hop-up sticks around for S4.

Thoughts? Any tweaks or adjustments you'd like to see for S4? Most desired change? I personally want a RE-45 buff the most, since I love everything about the weapon except its terrible performance, both stock and fully kitted.

Edit: L-Star could use some love too for S4. Right now it does NOT feel like a gold drop weapon, unlike the Kraber/Mastiff. Maybe increasing the mag size from 40 to 60, and increasing the overheat from 20~ to 30~ rounds, as well as increasing the spare ammo from 80 to 120? The DPS on it is fine, just overheats way too fast with a relatively small magazine for an LMG.

  • @RedpawsQ I just want them to do something about the g7 and mozambique. Mabye lessen the bullet width of the g7 and maybe rof for it. For the Mozi would like to see a damage, ammo, accuracy. maybe to 4 shots and 23 damage per pellet. I dont agree with the HP for the RE-45 lol
  • These aren't great buffs/nerfs or tweaks.

Personally, I think one should understand the weapons and the current meta before making changes to weapons. However, Season 4 is around the corner.

Once the patch notes are out with the new changes. I would love to five feedback.

Right now, it just best to wait for the notes. We personally didn't need a new sniper but the devs have their reason for doing so. Once we see the patch notes, the trailer and experience and play tested the changes. We will know why we got a new sniper.

I have faith in the upcoming changes.
