Having higher frames removes ghosting and smoother movement.
Next to that having more frames will also make it easier to notice someone when peeking, as with lower frames a short peek might just be less noticeable.
Also the hell are you saying, you don't feel it?
It reduces input lag and helps with plenty of things, next to that smooth gameplay is awesome to have.
They can complain all they want, I don't see the problem.
Also why would aim assist get knocked down together with higher FPS?
With higher FPS it's easier to track players, though locking onto them properly will still be a challenge, it's not logical.
