Why does knockdown shield exist?

I mean it's only good if enemy is far away, but if it's near it's just going to clip it's gun through your shield and oneshot you....

Like why is this even possible? It's not a 360 shield, and if you have trouble avoiding it you can always either destroy it or use granades.

But why is it possible to just simply go and put your gun through the shield.. ?

This makes level 4 knockdown shield's hp look like nothing, you would be like "I am not giving you this level 4 shield you are gonna have to shoot it down to kill me"

No instead you go "I am not giving you, oh you just shot right through it wow...."

But I'm not mad about this just because of that, literally a level 2 and 3 shield feels like level 1 cause they can just shoot through it..

    That is true they can no clip the sheild and worse they can finisher you with your sheild facing them you would think the sheild allows them to not be able to do that so knockdown sheilds have a use and level 4 legendary knock down what's the point of it when you res back up it takes 3 hours and your vaunrable so your dead before the long animation is done and after that guess what it goes down to a basic level 3 epic sheild why?

    @damsonwhufndthis You make a fair point- it's not fair when the shield doesn't stop a simple "model error" (I guess?). It gives players a bit of time to survive but at those close ranges... I just use my Finisher anyways

    @StarMystroyeah, but whats the point of finisher if you can just oneshot them in single shot sometimes?

    I mean one logic would be that you can put weapons through the barrier, but how does the barrier know which is weapon and which is bullet? perhaps the speed of travel
