Why does melee slow your movement? Please this needs to be changed asap.

Imagine landing and instead of being a man and looting a gun, someone decides to punch you out. Or even wise 3 man landing on a pred and punching. Instantly dead. Why does movement become slowed? I play octane and I still can't get away from someone punching me out with aim assist melee. This is a ridiculous mechanic and causes soooo much frustration. You cant remove melee bc of heirlooms but nerfing melee slowed movement is absolutely necessary. Who else agrees?
