Why not remove recoil?
It would help with having to compete with people using zen and scripts for no recoil.

Well I think with that reasoning it becomes logical to put aimbot into the game to combat other players aimbotting.
Whilst yes, it's awful to have players that use these types of things, it's not going to make up an extremely large percentage of the playerbase.
I'm pretty sure that there is quite the amount of players that enjoy having recoil, otherwise the game might just become easier and lose a bit of it's competitive integrity.
Some would say aim assist aim bot same thing. Could free up resources for them to do more about other cheats.
- @Kensukie Aimbot and aim assist are actually not the same thing.
Aimbot locks onto and keeps the player's cursor on the target, often times hitting the enemy player's head with near (or 100%) accuracy, while aim assist helps guide a player's cursor over to targets. However, it doesn't snap to the target, stay on the target, auto aim directly at the target, aim through walls, or aim for the player.
Recoil is also reduced for controller players as its slightly harder to control. Although a little bit of practice with aim assist turned off isn't a bad thing either.
I am a PC player who tried controller on PC, the aim assist was alright but it wasn't an advantage over a mouse and keyboard, (and often was my downfall), I've also played the game on friends Xboxes, the aim assist did indeed feel different, (60% vs PC's 40%), however it wasn't a game changer.
So yes, in short the problem is people using strike packs, xim, etc. which sadly it doesn't seem like there's a way to resolve that problem. - @Midnight9746 I mean they could also just ban them ? 😂
- @matzesingt Well they could, however players just bypass bans and besides, its more difficult to detect the use of strike packs and such on consoles as they don't modify the game or manipulate files or anything like that.
You might as well make controllers no longer a playable option and remove the game from consoles, however that's not a solution. @XHelperZ

I'm sure there ARE a lot of players who enjoy the ludicrous amounts of recoil in this game. I'm sure there are many, many more who don't like it or would at least prefer to see it toned down. I completely disagree that recoil is a necessary feature for competitive integrity. It's ONE way to differentiate players. At the beginning it differentiated those with preternatural hand-eye coordination. Now it differentiates those who have Cronus from those who don't. Take away the recoil and suddenly "good" players can no longer make stupid strategic decisions and win anyway because of god-like aim. Suddenly, players are rewarded for being thoughtful, careful, meticulous, and thinking strategically. Instead of hunting the map for anything in motion and knowing they can headshot a moving player at 200m... with a scopeless 301.
I agree with @Kensukie. Combating cheaters is a good reason, but an even better one is because the entire weapon set in this game (with two exceptions) are too difficult to use. The difficulty of the weapon set should be set by testing with normal players, not with streamers and algs pros.I think it is pretty safe at this point to say they aren't going to ban players at all for any cheating or smurfing for a game where the player base is dwindling consistently. With the only exception to toxicity....especially after the fine for Epic.
If theres no recoil they would use another way to get advantage, thers always cheaters no matter what u play they get banned and new cheaters jump in at the same time, we just have no other option than hope they get banned. Remember to always spectate players that killed u in a way that is suspicious and then report if needed. 👮
