Unless you're hitting headshots the damage is is pretty average. There are at least 10 other guns in the game that will kill you quicker with bodyshots.

The base damage is not the problem. The problem is the headshot damage is too high, no damage fall off and more than double head shot damage up to 250m away.
Nerf headshot damage to 1.5 instead of 2.25
Damage fall off should start at 50 metres
And headshot damage to 40 metres
