120fps on the ps5 and xbox series S/X

A couple of quick questions about this.

So I saw a rumor on reddit about the total size of apex being 80gb instead of the usual 55gb which probably meant that 120fps is around the corner, that leads me to a couple of questions about this.

What will happen once ps5 and Series users get 120 fps? will they still be allowed .6 AA or will it be lowered to .4 AA like it is on PC?

Will they be forced into pc lobbies when using 120fps or will they still be allowed in console lobbies? will the update also bring cross progression?

Not really a console player (aside from occasional switch sessions)  but I saw the rumors but I haven't seem much about the questions that i brought up which is why i'm asking.

“Total size of apex being 80gb instead of the usual 55gb which probably meant that 120fps is around the corener”
The bigger file size doesn’t mean better frames per second. It’s probably the 4k textures or poor optimization. No one knows really the details but basing on other cross generational games, you can have either 4k 60fps or 1440p 120fps. As for the the aim assist, again, no one knows since no dev has spoken about it. All they said was that it’s coming this year. It’s okay for me to go down to 0.4 AA if I’m playing at 120fps but most console players play on a regular 60hz screen in a couch in their living rooms so I doubt that the AA values would change honestly.

Will they be allowed be allowed into PC lobbies? I doubt that since the nintendo switch even has a stronger “aim assist” in a form of gyro aiming to help against other consoles with better specs. Even if you lower PS5/XSX aim assist to 0.4 then place them in PC lobbies, a lot of PC players won’t be happy about it since they’ll bring their other console friends with them in the PC lobbies which I also doubt will happen.

Will the update also bring cross progression? No information of that yet as well. Let’s wait for S12 since the last anniversary event was also the time they released the Switch version and a perfect time to release the next gen console versions of apex.

  • I know this was back in March, but did EA ever come out saying that 120fps is here? I cant seem to find it any where and some other articles i have seen have said you can get 120fps for PS5 but not for XBOX x. Is that true?

@McBoutyBlasterNope it's just they said it would be there with a Next gen update but it never did!

Heck the PS5 is 2 years old, I bought it expecting to finally play Apex at 120 fps a year ago.
They never delivered while COD did... the MW2 is 120 fps on the PS5.

Same for cross progression.... they never deliveredd.. while Rogue is totally cross progression and MW2 also... you can login from any platform with the same account.

Giving us 120 fps would force the aim assist controversy to be addressed.  This is why I believe we haven't gotten it.

Even after 18months from PS5 Version release no 120fps.

Besides MW2 i could play Warzone and even CoD Cold War and Fortnite on 120fps few months after PS5 release.

It‘s funny that they can‘t give us 120fps mode and higher the tickrate of the servers with disabling high ping player advantages.

    Also no Anti-Cheat against Cronus/Xim👍🏽
