Adding New Features to Support Solo Queue Players

Hello,
I’m a Solo Q player in Apex Legends ranked mode, and I’ve reached Master in most past seasons.
However, this season feels very different for several reasons:

The new TTK makes dying much faster.

The presence of many 3-stack Predators.

The overall poor quality of random teammates.

While these issues can be improved or balanced in future updates, there are a few important features that should be added to improve the Solo Q experience and reduce frustration:

Block Teammate Option:
If I don’t want to play again with a certain random teammate, there should be a “Block from Future Matches” option. It’s very frustrating to repeatedly get matched with players who clearly don’t understand ranked gameplay, even in a random system.

Replay System:
Adding a replay feature would allow players to review their matches, learn from mistakes, and study different situations, which is essential for improvement in a competitive game.

Report Voice Abuse Option:
It’s unfair that players who respond to verbal abuse via text get punished, while the abuser who used voice chat goes unreported. A voice abuse report option should be implemented to ensure fair moderation.

Additional Suggestion:
Consider improving the ping and communication system by adding more tactical indicators, allowing Solo players to communicate effectively without needing to talk or type.

Great suggestions here. Keep them coming.Thank you.

One thing you can do that might help and will allow you to report players in game for voice abuse.

If you turn on voice to text in game it will capture their voice and turn it into text in game. You can then report it. The voice to text is not perfect but does allow that in game reporting. Please be aware that if you turn on voice to text your voice to the other players is displayed as text to them.

  • I can agree with everything you've asked for. But I'm definitely curious about this:

"allowing Solo players to communicate effectively without needing to talk"

How on earth do you get to master every season without using your mic???? In fact, it looks to me like virtually everything you listed, apart from a replay system, could be handled by a mic + good communication skills. Which is a euphemism for not trash talking your less-skilled teammates. Not saying that's what you do, but based on my experience in ranked, it's a serious possibility. And based on your desire for a voice abuse report feature, it sounds like you've been busted a time or two for texting back some inappropriate responses. I get it. It's not always easy to be the grown up in the room. It's why I don't use a mic anymore myself, but I'm also not trying to grind out a rank anymore either.

    I completely agree with you.
I actually lost my main account over a year ago because I used to respond to toxic players, and since then, I decided to rely only on in-game tools — like pings or simple text messages — to communicate.
If my team doesn’t want to listen, I simply don’t care anymore. It’s frustrating for both sides, but the current ranked system requires patience, focus, awareness, and calm decision-making — things that many players sadly lack.

I’m not saying I’m always right, but the overall player quality in ranked is honestly terrible.
For example, I might have 5 kills and 3 assists, and I know that if we take a fight in a certain area, we’ll instantly get third-partied.
I warn my teammates about it, but they ignore me, push anyway, die, and then start flaming and insulting — even though I warned them!
That’s one of the most annoying things about being a solo queue player.

Often, I just mute them to keep my focus and avoid ruining my day.
There are also many players who think they can solo-wipe a full squad by themselves — which almost never works.
The system sometimes drops us in specific zones, and you’ll see one of them leave the area, rush a full team alone, die, and then start swearing because you were looting or rotating elsewhere.
How can anyone play seriously with such teammates, even if they’re mechanically skilled?

On top of that, language barriers make using a mic pointless most of the time.
For example, I speak Arabic, but my teammates might be Russian, so I can’t understand anything they say.
And even when they speak English, poor accents and pronunciation often lead to misunderstandings, frustration, and toxic behavior.
That’s why I find using the mic not worth it in many situations.

I could have written that exact same post if I still played ranked. That's exactly the way I remember it. Can't say I miss it at all, but more power to you if you can still stomach it!

  • I agree with some of the ideals listed. Although, the Apex Community has a problem with constantly wanting to punish each other. I think there are better features that can be added to Apex without bringing each other down, as a first resort.

The fact that the community would rather have matchmaking features that block players (for whatever reason) instead of having features that bring players together is appalling. Do we really hate each other that much?

If anyone is able to make it to Diamond and up (without cheating), I think they're worthy of respect. Why block these types of players unless its due to verbal abuse? Because to block a player that has a different strategy "alone" makes this game more toxic, not less. Additionally, are we okay with high tier players being "shadow blocked" for no good reason? I think this would have an extremely negative effect on matchmaking and matchmaking queue times. For example, if you're in Masters during non-peak hours and you block the available players that are in queue I think this will make your queue time longer. I think this type of feature would backfire.

While I despise ping spamming, I think the ping system in this game is great! Players don't use the ping wheel efficiently as is.

A lot of games I've played have voice recording within the game. I'm not sure why Apex doesn't have it. A replay system sounds cool.

  • Just played a Platinum ranked match after playing Wildcard predominantly. Wildcard is most definitely the new "golden jewel"

In Wildcard I get to do everything, and that's fun. Most of all, I don't have to worry about anyone picking my Legend. Love it.

Unranked is still great. Has its perks. And yes, If I'm eliminated in pubs I'M BACKING OUT. For this reason, I prefer to play Wildcard. But I still enjoy other aspects of Unranked. For example, having access to the whole map and choosing my own POI.

Ranked is great.... if you're stacked. I would love to stack when given the chance via requeue. Most people who game also have busy lives. Trying to "constantly" find people to stack with isn't realistic for a lot of people. The SWT feature needs to be "IN THE GAME" (for all game modes).

Regarding social networking, this game will never reach its highest potential until the devs focus on the PLAYERS and how they interact. The community should not be forced to use 3rd party services. All of these issues need to be resolved within the game. A lot of people aren't touching Apex because of the negative "solo queue experience" which is a result of poor social networking in-game.
